The stay was good but need to call room service couple of times and then they work on request. I stayed for 3 days only. Internet is not free and that's the major point for me and I had to spend extra $ 50 behind internet.

WARNING! - Don't touch anything in the mini-bar/fridge under the TV. There are sensors under each item. We didn't use anything in it but picked up 2 items. Upon check-out there was a $30 charge on the bill for a 50 cent bottle of water and a 75 cent Snickers bar. They removed the charge when I called but can guess that a lot of people are getting charged just for touching items. My teenage son and I were in town for a couple of days to set up a computer for a friend. It was irritating that the parking structure was less than 100' from the bottom of the elevators for the Ipanema tower, but we had to hike through most of the casino, around one side of the bar and the World Buffet and then back around the other side just to get to where we parked. The TV sucked. Old CRT TV with a horrible picture and only a handful of channels. Local news TV was only channel worth watching. Also baffling that you can go to a $30/night hotel (Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Exp) and get free Internet, but if you go to a $75 - $500 (and up) hotel and they charge $10-$20 per day for Internet access.

Great service but the room had the typical smoke smell. I appreciated the room upgrade, but the smoke ruins any bumps up.

Hotel was great. Self park was close, room was very large and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay at the Rio again.

I was apprehensive about the location of the Rio, i.e. on the other side of the I-15 and away from the Strip, but it turned out fine. They provide shuttle to the Strip via either Harahs or Paris and Bally. My only other suggestion is that be sure to get a room in the Mesqerade Tower and not the Ipanema tower.

First time back at Rio in over a decade and, on the whole, I was pleased with the accommodations. It's by no means flashy and one can tell that it is an 'experienced' hotel. The thing that impressed me the most was the courtesy of the staff members who almost always went out of their way to say hello. This included the houseleaning staff, the front desk personnel and the very friendly dealers in the casino. On the down side, make SURE you ask for a non-smoking floor if you are a non-smoker. They mistakenly put us on the 13th floor (a smoking floor) and the room has a stale smoke smell and had a small, old-style TV. They cheerfully moved us to the non-smoking 6th floor, which had a flat-screen TV and that room smelled fresh and well-kempt. If you're a sports gambler, the sports book is average at best and closes earlier than most.

I have stayed at the Rio before and remember being spoiled beyond words. This trip.. all in all, it was great! I was sorely disappointed about a couple of small changes but nothing that would put a damper on the trip. I would say find a way to take your own coffee if you must have coffee to wake up like I do..lol! It's ridiculously expensive and I drink a lot of coffee..no free stuff...room service varied but at worst was still fine and at the best was awesome. The room was great! The view was spectacular, huge rooms/suites, and the services were wonderful. I really like the the room deposit/charge that could be used to pay for meals at the Rio, at other connected hotels and hire a limo's as needed. Really convenient. The staff were excellent and very helpful on every level, except my coffee needs(-still laughing..).

In-room coffee at more than $2 a cup? A tip envelope for the maid? Three towels for two people? The Rio's rooms have aged very well, are still large and luxurious, and the shuttle to the strip hotels (owned by the same company) is a nice amenity. But, just as the airlines have trimmed back, so apparently has this hotel which now boasts the most expensive buffet in town that we saw, at $50 a head.

We were not advised at front desk upon check in that the seafood buffet was not open all week. This is after we were told at check in how great it was! The Rio show was not happening that week and several other restaurants and buffets were closed. Management was not helpful other than "sorry". The Carinval dinner buffet was a horrendous wait. Breakfast buffet was empty and quite good. Towels in the room were dirty, took two phone calls and several hours to obtain replacements.Stains in bedding and carpet. In room refrigerator was set to to the coldest setting, ran constantly, freezing contents. Suprisingly, Planet Hollywood had the best buffet and decor.

This hotel is good with service, accomidations, shows, etc. Only issue was nickle and dime(Really $5 - $10). Instead of building in basic services like internet access(13.99 per day per connection), they charge for it. The did not have a resort fee (this is good, as these fees should be built into room rates ). I am more of a business traveler and hate paying for something, showing up and getting the airline "by the way, if you want to wear clothes on the plane its extra."

You get what you paid for. Not very satisfied with the location, but with the price you pay for this hotel, not a bad choice.

I had a great time at the Rio. It is showing its age a bit, mainly around the carpets and furnishings. The only down side was no show in the sky or Penn and Teller going the night I was there. The buffet is awesome. For the same price I would stay there again.

Stayed six days and was very comfortable in the room we had at the Rio. Have stayed there a few times before and never been disappointed. Very clean, nice view, staff nice and accommodating. Would stay there again. Price was exceptional.

Rio has a push for local business trying to over come the economy, much of parking is marked for locals only. The Sky Train runs on weekends only and many venues are closed.
