The Rex Hotel is located in Seoul's Myeong-Dong business district just 29 km from the Incheon International Airport. The oldest and largest of Korea's traditional markets, Namdaemun Market is just steps from the hotel. The place is a bit run down. However, the staff were nice. There's an excellent Korean BBQ place near by. Turn left from the main exit and walk up a hill. You'll see a restaurant with a PIG at the Y intersection. Order the pig BBQ and an icy Hite.

Very happy with the hotel for the cheap rate. Big room, friendly reception and bell boy. We have language problem with the restaurant waitress but the manager can understand English. Walking distance to Myeong Dong and Namdaemun but have to pass by a short lane...just beware of drunkards as there are a few 24hr eating houses around.

Very close to Namdaemun Market and Myongdong shopping district as well as many Korean Sauna Baths around the hotel. Unfortunately it was raining when I visited but they were located walking distance to Namsan park and the Seoul Tower.

The location was pretty good if you''d enjoy shopping in the nearby district. At first the hotel seemed to be in its own community, because their was no other big hotels around. But it was actually convenient with the banks grocery stores, and restaurants being in walking distance. Also for a nice walk was the Namsam park. You could also access the subway down the street.
