Residenza Ca Malipiero Hotel Venice
4.6 out of 5

We really enjoyed our short stay of 3 nights and days here. An excellent choice close (10 mins)to the excitement yet just distant enough to enjoy less crowded bars and restaurants in which to rest the weary bones when the day's sightseeing is over. The hotel, once a 15th century wealthy merchant's house is fantastic with views over a canal and piazza from the main reception and longe area. Rooms are clean and modern and even though in the heart of the island, are quiet at night (or with the window open you can experience the bustle below).

The room was a good size, clean and comfortable and in a great location. There was a mini bar but no prices available and limited staff about in the afternoon and evening. Breakfast was limited to cereal and bread. Overall a pleasant stay if you don't want to much service.

Good location-part of a 15th Century Palace, only a few minutes stroll from St Marks Square.Double room was reasonable and cleaned daily(though tv only had Italian channels)with new ensuite bathroom(though bath very small).Reasonable breakfast delivered to room.Only two staff, but both very helpful. No facilities.Need a map on website, and stress that the Hotel entry is at the side entrance, and not the now private front entrance.Would stay again.

The payment with credit card was not available and I had to pay cash which shouldn't we the case in Venice. Coffee for breakfast was good though.

Excellently located - 5 mins from Rialto and San Marco - and immaculately clean, especially the bathroom. Lots for restaurants, bars, even an Irish Pub within 2 mins walk - and the ones we went to were of decent quality, unlike some of those on the main tourist trap. Room and breakfast quite basic, but would definitely use again.

I had a wonderful stay there. The hotel has anexcellent location, between Rialto and San Marco and is in a beautiful palazzo. The suite room is enormous and nicely furnished. All in all, the hotel added to my positive Venice experience.

A place with charming character, friendly staff and a superb location. Though the single room was very small.

Absolute Venice. Romantic, small canal at the front, singing gondalier going by. Church with musical recitals opposite, lively open square, staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Don't go here if you want brand new and gleaming but if you want to know you are in Venice this is the place to be.

We were really happy to find a hotel at last minute right in the centre of Venice. It was very comfortable and quite grand in its day. Over looking the canal we were delighted at its location. We would return if we had the price cut in half as it was for our stay.

Great to stay in a genuine old Venetian house, very easy to imagine life there hundreds of years ago. Handy location on campo Santa Maria Formosa, try to get a view onto the square if you can. Looks a little run down from the outside, but much nicer inside.

Beautiful Palazzo in the Centre of Venise between Rialto and San Marco. Large rooms, nice interior, nice view on square, beds not the best but o.k., cold terrazzo floor (bring warm socks or slippers).

The hotel was in a wonderful 15th century palazzo with newly rennovated rooms. Guests should know they must carry luggage up to the 3rd floor. Excellent breakfast delivered to your room. Owner speaks English and was very friendly. Front rooms for 4 have lovely views over the piazza Santa Maria Formosa.
