The place is horrible, it has colossal stairs with no elevator, the room is small and old and very moldy, I did not feel comfortable taking shower there. Cannot recommend it

We were absolutelly amazed by the location of this hotel: few steps from Restauradores station, right next to the main squares Figueira (metro station Rossio), Dom Pedro IV., in the same street, just few steps beautiful palace Casa Alentejo, oposite of the hotel a shop where you can buy the famous cherry liquire Ginja ... We enjoyed beeing in the heart of the city, under our balcony were restaurants and every evening we were listening to a "concert for free" from street artists under our balcony. The hotel was small and modest, but in a beautiful historical building with azulejos inside in corridors. Room small, but satisfying, with nice wooden furniture, bathroom very nice. Staff helpful and kind. The only very small minus is a bit tricky openning of hot watter in a shower. But once you find out how it works, no problem. Maybe not for people who need a calm place, this place is very lively ;o)

When I first checked in, I thought that if this hotel had one more star, it would qualify as a dump. But about 15 minutes after I got to my room, a staff member arrived with a big plate of fruit, and I saw the hotel for what it is - VERY basic, but clean, comfortable, and with a helpful staff, The room had only one electric outlet but had good lighting. There is no internet, and the hotel does not even have an email address. It is located within a two minute walk of one major metro station and a five minute walk to another one on a different line - very convenient for getting around the city. It is very close to a major, active square, just a short walk to the banks of the Tagus river, and close to bus stops, including the airport bus. The main downside is that the hotel is on a street with dozens of outdoor restaurants, so you get a lot of noise from them until 11 PM (but finding a restaurant is convenient). Then the street cleaners and garbage trucks come through well into the early morning. Fortunately, I can sleep through a nuclear war. Also, the rooms have fairly sound-proof French doors that block out the street noise. But since there is no air conditioning, you'll want to keep them open in warm weather. At the normal rates, the hotel is OK value for the money. Just don't expect any amenities. I was in Lisbon for a major conference, and like all the hotels in town, this one, too, boosted its rates more than three-fold. (Some hotels jacked up their rates more than that.) If all you want is a comfortable bed or two twin beds in a clean room with a friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff, and bargain prices (under normal circumstance), this place is downright OK.

Very basic, you get what you pay for. A comfortable bed, fair size room, good location and hot water were the best features. No air conditioning so a place best avoided in the heat of the summer. No lift, no fixing for the shower head, no plug for the bath and initially no fan for the room. There was no TV remote but we never asked whether they could supply. The pillows (3 for the two single beds) felt like someone had removed the foam and ripped it into pieces before stuffing it back in the cover. Very lumpy.

It is at the right price and good location. I believed it is one of the best bargain at this price range. However, due to the old age of the existing building, the floor drain of the bathroom did not function very well.

Location is great in the heart of the Baixa, close to shops, restaurants and monuments and only steps away from public transportation. The rooms are small, but functional with private bath and TV, but no phone or hairdryer (they let me borrow one, though). The bed and the room is general was clean, but the furniture was kind of scuffed, the security chain missing and the bath mat could use some scrubbing. There is no elevator, so it is not easy to carry baggage up to the fourth floor. I slept very well, though. No problems with noise. It was a very good deal for the price.
