Rendezvous Observation City Hotel Perth Guest Reviews
Lovely old hotel. Great staff all friendly and helpful. Location is perfect straight across the road from Scarborough Beach and great food options both at the hotel and in close proximity. We enoyed our 3 night stay. The only problem is the bathroom, shower over bath and very hard to get water right.

I'll start with a positive, the staff were all friendly and very happy. However I found for a hotel that was a luxury hotel, it's standards have fallen dramatically. As you walk into the foyer and are welcomed by staff at the reception desk, look along the back wall to your left next to the light switch. There is a rather large black mark all along the wall from people putting their hands on the wall and over time the grime has built up. You look up at the roofing and you see spider webs that have been there for goodness knows how many years as the webs are huge and extremely dusty. In the lift on the way to the room look at the walls. You can see where someone has cleaned but can only reach so high, the tops of the walls have marks where they have been half cleaned and the cleaners obviously aren’t tall enough. Walking to the rooms you see the carpets are dirty and all the walls are also dirty. Inside our room it was lovely and clean, however again if you looked up you can see where the cleaner can’t reach and the balcony is filthy with ash on the floor and hand rail where someone has put out their cigarettes. We ordered the room with the spa as a treat....... the spa was filled and when we turned the pump on a greasy black film spread out into the water.....I don’t know if the filter on the spa has every been cleaned or checked but it was pretty disgusting. We tried to pull the plug however the plug was broken where the handle was meant to be so it took us awhile to pull it out. I cleaned the greasy ring that was left behind and ran another bath, however once we pushed the spa button on, the same thing happened again. We spoke to the hotel receptionist and was told the hotel was going to be undergoing some upgrades soon. If the hotel was maintained better on a regular basis, it wouldn’t need these massive upgrades. The Rendezvous used to be a luxury hotel, I stayed there for a week on my honey moon in 1998 and it has been the place to go when I want a luxury weekend away. Last night was not luxury and apart from the lovely staff, it felt like I was staying in cheap motel. Please walk through and look around, you will see the areas I have stated here and realize, even though you may be used to it, others will walk in and spot it straight away and not be happy. Also the carpets....especially the area in front of the lifts that go to the underground car park are filthy. I hope the standards will improve as I’ve stayed at lower star hotels which were cleaner and cheaper. I have sent this exact feedback to the hotel the day we left and I still haven't heard anything from them.

Fabulous area to stay in. Great stretch of beach to walk along. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Hotel was great, room had a glorious view of the coast.

We have stayed a number of times at Rendezvous. The rooms are getting a little dated but we come back because they ALWAYS have really comfortable beds & pillows. Rooms are clean, fabulous views of the ocean & the food is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Lovely spacious room with lovely sea views. Was very clean & welcoming. Fantastic pool area, but it was a bit cold to use. In a good location with plenty of cafes and shops handy. Was a bit disappointed I left my make up bag in the bathroom when vacating and they said they hadn't found it. My silly mistake. Despite this would definitely stay again.
