perfectly serviceable hotel on the south side of the river in Seoul. Not particularly well located, being situated between two subway stations. Reasonably convenient for Coex, but not the cheapest option

This was a very impressive hotel in central Seoul. Staff were very polite and helpful and we were made to feel welcome. I'd happily go back.

From the moment I walked in the door, the customer service provided fast and simple help. My room was always very well kept and the hotel is well organised. The location is perfectly placed between two metros. Takes 5 minutes to walk to either. I would stay there again.

My stay at the Renaissance Hotel Seoul with my family for 6 nights was very comfortable. The staff at the Front Desk and the Concierge were generally friendly, helpful and serves with a smile. The service at the Business Center can be better though.

Very good recovery on short notice, that saved the Korean part of our vacation after a disastrous stay at a tourist-class hotel, the "Biwon". Works best if you're a businessman who wants a Marriott lifestyle when you're not at work. ;)

A very pleasant stay. Few things can be improved: o Do not charge for toothpaste and razor o Provide a coffee maker or hot water boiler o One bottle of complimentary water is not enough. o Most 5 star hotel offers complimentary saunas but here it offers only for the pool and gym.

I would recommend this hotel to a friend. The staff was great and I had a pleasant stay!

The main lobby is quite big and convenient to have short business discussions. The extension outside the swimming pool overlooking the street is somewhat unique.

All the guests will be able to feel free and comfortable once they step into the hotel as the reception space are made with the huge space vertically, horizontally.

Renaissance made some welcome changes to the coffeeshop and lobby-lounge, although I doubt if many customers will hang around the new bar which is too much exposed to the lobby. One of the best breakfast buffets in the region with an expat chef who doesn''t hesitate to make you a "special" dish such as delicious spinach-and-egg early morning pizza! I maintain my earlier comments on the terrible coffee served at breakfast but I now ask for a special expresso from their machine which staff has been very willing to serve.

Great personalized service. I left some small items in my room when I checked out. Hope they can find it and keep it for me until my next visit.

The hotel is not sexy and needs doubtless a better maintenance and some refurbishing at Lobby Level and 23rd floor where a Bar is with live music. Hotel only can be recommended if room price is reasonable.

Best value for money in Seoul where hotels are overpriced. Good restaurants, I especially like the Italian one. The one problem they have is their terrible coffee. Rennaissance should realize that even in Seoul there are plenty of good coffeeshops now where coffee is 10 times better and less than half the price. I made a comment on the bad coffee during breafast and was served a slightly better brew "from the machine", as I was told. I don''t know where the normal servings come from, but it is a shame for such a hotel. The lobby-lounge coffee isn''t any better...

The location is not really the best, if you travel with family whatever you save on hotel you end up spending on taxis or subway. Still, there isn''t that much to see or do in Korea so I guess for a day or two you shouldn''t be viewing things like trying to find a permanent place to live. I liked the hotel, but I felt that it was a 5 stars hotel only because of the leisure facilities (or the expensive prices at the restaurants). The rooms are definitely 4 starish if not 3+.

Would I recommend it? Sure! Seoul was not all that a great place to visit, but it was surely pleasant to return to a room where you can later spend time in a nice pool, or at the gym...or even practicing golf or playing tennis! Superb! Hey, another hint that it is not REALLY a 5 star hotel: they charge you for the tooth brush! If you find a 4 star hotel cheaper and plan to be out all day long, stay there, if you end up like me, going back to the hotel at 6, stay at the Renaissance.
