Red Lion Portland Convention Center Guest Reviews
I was disappointed that this Red Lion is not in the heart of Downtown Portland. We had to drive across the bridge to get to most of our activities. Great room, good staff and overall a nice value.

Hotel lobby and corridors are a little tired but the staff is helpful and the rooms are updated and comfortable. Close to MAX trains!

Front desk staff warm and professional. Lobby: outdated appearance, some might call it tacky. First room was large with an odd open closet adjacent to the bed, as if the room had not been planned as a hotel. No AC. Microwave/mini-fridge/coffee maker unit had nice countertop space, but coffee maker was out of reach of electric outlet. Moved the whole unit, only to find 3 syringes behind the unit. Called Front Desk, requested room change. Second room was a worn-out closet with maybe a 7-foot ceiling. Old sofa, frayed carpet throughout, had not been vacuumed in awhile. Requested room change. Stayed there 2 nights, glad to leave. Hotel Manager was very solicitous in his apologies, and refunded the room charge for the first night. If the hotel could be as nice as the staff, this place would be a winner. (Red Lion used to be more up-scale). Use as a last resort, until the hotel is sold or renovated.

The room and hotel were nice, but there were bugs in the shower....NOT ok!

My experience was good. One thing I did not like is that the room I had I could here people talking outside my window. And the sort ramp to the door should have steps. I fell that is a safety issue.
