Red Lion On Fifth Avenue Guest Reviews
We stayed at the red lion over Xmas. We couldn't have asked for a better location, right downtown and next to pike place market. The hotel had a great pub/restaurant underneath it. Parking was very expensive, $30/night, I was disappointed they did not offer a discounts for hotel guests. The hotel itself was an older building, although it was very clean inside and the staff were excellent, especially the concierge, Lolly. The rooms were very average. Overall it was a good experience, and I would book here again.

had a nice quiet stay in the heart of Seattle, close to everything that I wanted to do

"Girls Night Out" started out with flasks in the room...which was on the top floor and the neighboring building had wierd white bubbles coming out of a round roof top machine and blowing all over...that with the clouds reflecting off the mirror windows in the high rise opposite started the evening off right. On to the Olympic for "Cocktail Week" offering called Baja Blue Martini...fabulous. On to RN74 for overpriced Midnight in Paris...then to SAM for ReMix...Great beds in hotel and we decided this should be a bimonthly event. (We live north about 35 miles)... Front desk and concierge (sp?) were fun and helpful.

The Red Lion was a nice place to stay and the staff was very helpful with all our needs. I took my daughter to Seattle for the first time to see Manchester United play the Seattle Sounders so the location was perfect and we walked all over downtown. I would have given 5 stars except for two details that could prove to be deal breakers in the future. We stayed in room 1608 and the AC/Heat did not work correctly so the room was perpetually cold and my daughter woke up freezing in the middle of the night. There were no extra blankets in the room to help either. There was also a small blood stain on the comforter on one of the beds. I reported both of these issues to a very nice girl named [...] at the front desk when checking out as the manager was talking to another guest and we were meeting friends for lunch. She assured me that she would relay the information. I have not been contacted by the hotel staff as of the writing of this review.

I was there for a conference, and there was not much to do in the hotel, outside the room for my wife while I was in meetings. The internet signal was very weak, I was unable to do anything of value. There was a baby crying in the room next to us at 3 am every morning, it was very loud. One of the elevators was extremely loud as it traveled up and down, and the noise in the corridors was so loud, as if the door was open. Needless to say, we started leaving the television on by the 3rd night to drowned out the noise. The ice machine was broken for the entire week. the next one was 2 floors up. There was no space in the lobby to sit, it is very small, no pool, and the only other area was an out door lounge, which was great when it didn't rain, but it was part of the dining facility, (had to purchase something to drink/eat)and was closed the first evening that we were there for a private event.
