Great room, at a great price... This hotel is located literally 10 min. from everything you want to visit. The beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Get a room with a "view", it's well worth $5 for the am Sunrise over the mountains! A high-rise Hotel in the downtown area of Salt Lake City, UT for around $65 is an exceptional value..! ----Plenty of hot water---- :0) If your wife is a snob, take her to the Grand America Hotel, where she'll likely still find something to gripe about.

The room was quiet and comfortable. Heater was noisier than I like, but it has a variable switch that allows for a quieter fan. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and the exercise room and indoor pool was in good condition. If you are w/o a car, (we used the shuttle from the airport), and the weather is cold, plan on getting a cab or freezing to get a meal other than in the hotel. The closest other restaurant is McDonald's. But the shuttle service was excellent and the rest of the staff was extremely accommodating. The lobby was warm and inviting, with a natural gas fireplace that was well received when coming in from the cold.

Loud. Noisy at night especially when the bar closed. Party on the floor was very loud.

The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. However, the hotel was noisy & you could hear everything while you were in the room. People talking in the hallway, doors slamming, footsteps above, traffic noise. I was not able to fall asleep till late the first night. Second night I called the front desk in hopes of them having a portable fan that would drown out the noise, they did, & the other 2 nights I slept very well. Other issues, lights not working, closet doors off hinges, and outlets old & would not hold plugs in the wall for hairdryer/iron. The staff was nice and accomodating. The location was on the edges of down town, not in a pretty neighborhood, but SLC doesn't really have unsafe areas.
