Red Lion Hotel Anaheim Guest Reviews
Staied here during or trip to Disneyland. Really liked being able to leave the car until midnight and take the shuttle to Disneyland.

The hotel was a quick 10 min walk to the Disney resort. Rooms were remodeled with a nice contemporary design, sheet-wrapped blanket linens, flat screen TVs, and free wifi throughout the hotel. The hotel seemed very clean, and overall was very nice. Breakfast was a hot buffet style with fresh fruits, eggs, pancakes, and juices. It is served in the restaurant that becomes Red's Pasta Restaurant in the afternoon and evenings. The staff interaction was mainly evening desk staff, with the only negative they mis-dated my parking ticket, so I was unable to get into the parking lot on the 2nd night of the 4 night stay. A quick trip to the desk resolved the issue. The breakfast staff was friendly. Overall I was pleased.... until checkout, when the clerk asked, 'Do you want the resort fee charged to your card on file?" Resort Fee?!?!? Its minimal, but on top of the negotiated price, they add an additional fee that you are required to pay. Because of the resort fee, I cannot recommend this hotel. Good bye Red Lion! I plan to never give you any business in the future. Enjoy your shake down... oops... I mean "resort fee."

I am the type of person who usually stays in economy hotels to save money. However, this hotel was just $20 more per night and has been newly renovated to be much nicer than an economy hotel. For me, it was worth the extra $20 per night to get a lot more comfort. Plus, the hotel was within walking distance from Disneyland, so we didn't have to worry about traffic, parking, or lot shuttles. I would definitely stay there again if the rates remain reasonable.

The hotel is pretty nice. You can tell they've upgraded the furnishings and the bathroom fixtures, but the wallpaper keeps the room pretty dated. Also, I would not recommend this location if you want to sleep in. After a long evening at Disneyland the night before, we were awoken by children in the hallways starting at 7:30 am. Its a Disneyland adjacent hotel though, so its to be expected. We asked about a shuttle to Disneyland and the staff didn't know, so that was unfortunate. We walked to the park from the hotel, which wasn't too bad. One of the Disney staff members was able to assist us in finding the correct shuttle on the way back. Based on what we paid, it was definitely worth the money.
