Ramada Marcoola Beach
4 out of 5

The Ramada is but a 2 mins walk to the beach and boasts some fantastic view of the shoreline. (The ocean view rooms anyways). Marcoola Beach is normally quiter and a tad more secluded than the more popular Coolum, Noosa and Moloolaba beaches, which kinda makes it feel like a private beach at times. The hotel section of the resort could do with some interior improvements as it is starting to show it's age, however, the beds are comfy and the rooms are clean and cozy. As a light sleeper, I do tend to get woken up early in the morning by slamming doors and fellow guests and hotel staff moving around outside due to the lack of noise insulation around the doors, but that could be a personal issue. There is also a great and affordable Chinese Restaurant just across the road which makes for awesome dinners, plus the resort bar and restaurant serves good tapas and drinks. In terms of quality and comfort, this resort probably does not compare to the likes of the Hilton or the Marriott, but more than makes up in terms of affordability and distance to beach.

Air condition leaked water continously down the wall, over the tv and carpet like Niagra Falls, the noise was unbearable, staff explained no repairman or romm available (we excepted that considering holiday time), but they simply gave us towels to mop up and no follow up, we had to keep on requesting more towels, didnt want to be seen as a whinger so gave up, ask for a free breakfast, got that at least, place is tired, staff look stressed

When we checked in, we asked for a room facing the ocean but the young lady said it would be $45 more-so she put us in a room facing the hinterland -the room was great but there was the back of a big shed right next to the balcony blocking our view-I thought not again, internet booking means lousy room-after we complained they did put us in a room higher up which was great-we wondered what an ocean view room would look like and were prepared to pay the extra but it was a much smaller room with a dodgy lock and smelled so we opted for the hinterland view-it was a great panoramic window which faced onto the airport, subway and seven eleven-oh and when we questioned the staff the next morning as to why they couldn't have offered us a better sea view room when there were a lot of unoccupied ones we could see from the pool, they said that those rooms hadn't been cleaned-well we thought they were being dishonest.

We were very happy staying here. Our view was great and all staff very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is secluded from a shopping district and so the only real entertainment is the inhouse tavern unless you drive to another location. The restaurant across the road speaks for itself when you read the menu prices and notice the gross lack of patronage. The rooms in the hotel are very small but are comfortable although in dire need of refurbishment. We went out for the day and upon returning in the evening we found that our room had been missed in being serviced completely. The buffett breakfast although basic was very nice.

being so close to the beach was wonderful, buffett breaky was ok, not much variety, peacful and quiet even though airport was close by, close to other tourist spots, good effort overall but can make some improvements

Stayed at the Ramada Marcoola on the weekend of the 13th/14th of October. Having got a cheap deal on this website, the room was small with no view. The bed was rather uncomfortable and there seemed to be no character or charm. The breakfast was good (included in price) and the pool was nice). Staff at reception were very friendly. wouldnt pay full price to stay here

Value for money hotel with children in mind. The room was cleaned daily which was nice for extended stays. Our room was a little too crampt for our liking (Queen Delux).Gym was disapointing with broken equipment.Food on site was a good affordable price.Location for us was poor as we had to travel to do anything that appealed to us,again being out of the generally busy area of the Sunshine Coast was perfect for families.Overall the Ramada Marcoola Beach in our opinion does not exceed Three Stars.Thankyou.

I stayed at the Ramada as I had a wedding in Mt Coolum, it was perfet location, so close to the airport and close to the wedding, plus the beach was out the back gate of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating too.

We had a relaxing 3 days - there were plenty of places to eat at the Ramada and around the area. The breakfast was included and was good. We were disappointed that we did not get an Ocean View Room even though when we booked the "Hot Deal" was -stay midweek (Mon - Thurs) for an Ocean View Upgrade

We had a 5 day visit to the Sunshine Coast. Very surprised how small the rooms are with small old TV and small bed to match. Flash sale with breakfast included for $A89 was a great deal. The sports bar downstairs and the location was great. Beach close by and nice pool area.

When we first arrived the staff were more interested in us attending a sales pitch by Wyndam. Car parking not explained to us. Also we were note told about cleaning of our room etc and we were there for 6 nights.

The room was small with no provision to put a suitcase except on the bed or on the desk. The towel rail was loose on the wall. The shower head bracket was loose and the shower head could only be used in one position. The tea & coffee provisions were not topped up when the room was serviced. Breakfast was available from 7.00 to 10.00. We were there at 8.30 and there was not much food available and what there was, was cold. Altogether forgettable.

They forgot to make up our room, which happens I guess, had to ask for a couple of towels, and they wouldn't take our rubbish bag off me ... so I left it in on the floor at the reception desk. The staff didn't seem to care. Had to park way down the street, the gym is really tired. They should be doing it better.

This is a good resort for families and those who enjoy a simple beachside location. Apart from the beach there is not much else in walking distance. The pool and grounds are pleasant and the accommodation varies from hotel rooms to apartments.

Staff were great, plenty of parking, great location. DR, Chemist and food outlets just across the road. The room was a little tired looking and had a little musty smell about it, however in saying that it was clean. Disappointed in the bistro, very few of the wines advertised were available and from the photos thought there was a secluded section but was just one big open space. Not great for a romantic dinner for two. You can see the improvements they are making and will be great when it's all done.
