Location
The Ramada Encore is just a five minute drive from York railway station which has direct services to London and Edinburgh, and there is a park and ride service which runs into the city centre. The hotel is also conveniently placed for road links with the A1 just a short distance away. Shopaholics should take in York's mediaeval shopping street - the 'Shambles'.

Ramada Encore York Guest Reviews
This hotel is in a great location, however it changed it's name and we were not notified. So when we asked for directions the guy said tRamada Encore York didn't exist! Caused us a bit of a panic. Fortunately a young girl told us it was now Travel Lodge. No fridge or safe. And when we checked out we couldn't leave our luggage for the 3 hours until our train left - they do not facilitate this - so be aware!!

What a great hotel, bang in the heart of the city the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The bar is good as is the breakfast. I've stayed here loads of times and tend to go back every year (if they're not booked up of course). Wholly recommend it :-) Book early though!

Modern, with good facilities, but basic in its services; one has to go out for meals, but there are a lot of eating places within a short distance. Be warned, one should always take a map until one knows the mediaeval city within the walls quite well

On a busy road with lots of both traffic and pedestrian noise. Parking is away from the hotel and expensive. No free Wifi.
