Location
The Rainforest Retreat is located in the heart of Franz Josef Glacier village, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island.

This property offers tree Houses, tree lodges and tree huts that provides luxury for the whole family and some have a private rainforest setting with large outdoor living areas. Most of the lodges are raised into the canopy itself set amongst a beautiful secluded, natural environment.

Great service and location - only a short walk to town. The girls at reception were very friendly and the rooms were much better than we expected. We would definitely stay here next time!

Stayed in a Park Motel unit for 2 nights whilst visiting the Franz Josef Glacier in April 2011. with my wife and our son aged 12. Our unit was in a group of 8 in a wing of a large busy complex that obviously serves a wide range of patrons including bus groups. Our room was modern, clean and well equipped, suited us fine especially as we self-catered Staff were pleasant and helpful. Wireless internet service did not work for me but managed to use computers in the reception lobby which provided reasonable access though not cheap at $1 per 15 minutes (often the going rate in NZ). Despite the numbers of people at the resort (and plethora of young people) we had two relatively quiet nights sleep, so can't complain.

We had a lovely tree lodge. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. Excellent facilities and beautiful setting.
