Contacted the hotel beforehand to say it was my friend's 40th and they couldn't have done enough for us - highly recommended

The hotel was far better than expected. Location great, although it is a bit closer to Blackwall than East India DLR station. Still only 10 mins to City Airport. Easy walk to Canary Wharf for shopping and restaurants. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. Better than the Hilton on Canary Wharf. Definitely good value for money.

This hotel might be a little bit out of the city but it was excellent value for money at just a little over £60 for the night. It is classed as a 4-star deluxe and deserves this rating. The breakfast was charged at £9.95pp and was also very good value. It did seem a little bit empty, but I am guessing that's why it is such good value at a weekend because their normal trade is probably Mon-Fri business-types (being so close to Canary Wharf). The walk from the DLR was a bit longer than I would have liked, but it was ok (about 10 mins from Blackwall or East India Dock). The bed was extremely comfortable and was king size which is always good. The shower wasn't powerful enough for me, but this is a minor point. A heated steam-free mirror would have been a bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

We were offered an upgrade by reception to one of the end rooms no 628 that are larger and have a panoramic view of the O2 Arena and Thames. It cost an extra £50 per night but was well worth it fabulous. The hotel was spotlessly clean and staff very attentive. The only thing they could improve on was breakfast was not very hot and restuarant was not top notch for fussy people like me.

The hotel and facilities are very good and the hotel staff were very helpful. My wife enjoyed a day in the spa and there is a lot you can do there for free (but of ciourse my wife paid for a treatment, which she enjoyed). Less impressive is the restaurant. The service was terrible and then the food was average and small portions - definitely not worth the long wait. The restaurant experience aside, we had a lovely time. The hotel is on the river, but there's not a lot else nearby, although access to other areas is good via the DLR and Blackwall station which is a short walk away.
