Qubus Hotel Prestige Katowice Guest Reviews
The Qubus is a four-star hotel, situated in the tallest building in Katowice. There's a small mall on the ground floors, with restaurants and a (Polish-language) movie theater. Rooms overlook the Rondo and the Spodek, two Katowice landmarks. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the Rynek and a ten-minute walk to the train station. Katowice is a tough town for hotels. The primary market is business, which means a hotel room will cost the average traveler twice as much as in Krakow. The lucky trade-off is that many hotels, like the Qubus, are up to Western standards of quality and service, something occasionally lacking in Poland. The Qubus is a good example of this. The bottom line is that the Qubus is a nice hotel at a hefty price. If you're splurging or are in town on business, it's a good choice. Your best bet is to try to find a deal at the Qubus on Orbitz. One thing: the wireless Internet was problematic when I was there. This is sadly typical of many Polish hotels, but it remains to be seen if it's typical of the Qubus, or whether they just having trouble that week.
