Although we upgraded to a beach view for an extra $20, the room had a clogged sink. A plumber came and unclogged it, but that lasted only for aobu 20 mins and got clogged again. Did not have a sink that we were able to use in the bathroom. Also the hotel reception staff ( a gentlemen) was quite rude to my wife when she went to check in. Overall the hotel rooms and amenities need renovation and hotel staff need training.

It's a motel not a hotel, so that's already bad to begin with. The room is large and the batroom is huge too. However the air-con on a cool day was very slow to warm the room up and somewhat distracting being directly above the bed. Nice furniture and well lit with lots of lights. Staff are polite but told me there were no facilities :( It's directly across the road from the water but you'll need to walk down a bit to reach the water. It's a leisurely 15 min stroll in to the city and very easy to get to Geelong train station where the bus terminal is also located. Overall this place is expensive for what you get - up market motel, disappointing hotel.

Third or fourth time that I have stayed at the Chifley in recent years. I love it! Location - overlooking Corio Bay - from excellentlt furnished rooms with a most satisfying breakfast! This hotel will meet all of your expectations - for business and / or leisure stays - as it did mine! I will return!

We arrived reasonably later in the day and the staff were friendly and the desk and as we had booked and paid in advance the check in was hassle free and quick. We had two rooms booked which on the same floor. Car parking available free of charge. The rooms were your typical hotel room with all amenities that you would expect and were clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean and had everything you needed. The location was nice and close to town with plenty of things to see and do right near the hotel. Would highly recomend, and would stay again.

Staff responded immediately to any requests we had. They were all lovely. Most power packs these days for charging things are bulky and won't fit in powerpoints close to the floor or a bench. More usuable powerpoints would have helped, particularly as we are both deaf needing multiple things to constantly recharge so we could hear, as well as mobile phones etc. to recharge. No subtitles on Foxtel. Good sized bathroom.

The Chifley Hotel was adequate. i might opt for something different if I were to ever visit Geelong again. The pictures on their website did not fit the room.

Great location but felt like we were in a 3 1/2 start at best hotel.... queen size bed that had seen better days..... 2 inch gap under the door which made the room VERY noisy & woke us by 7am which was a pill with an 11am checkout. Reception said if we called, they could have put a towel down but by that point we were awake so what's the point. No compensation was given & we wouldn't go back.... happy to pay more for decent accommodation in the future.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathroom was large. Appliances (fridge and TV) very old but working. We appreciated the free off street parking.

A great, cost-effective but perfectly located place to stay in Geelong. The restaurant overlooks Corio Bay, the staff there are very friendly and you can take a nice walk along the bay after breakfast. Rooms scrupulously clean.

Time spent was very short. I found the service very good, and staff very friendly and helpful. Did not have time to utilise the facilities, but breakfast was excellent and the view across the bay made it very enjoyable.

I have been staying at this hotel on and off for more than 20 years and seen different management over that time. The Chifley facelift has been good. I stayed in one of the older rooms and there is some wear and tear but it was a good rate. The room was clean and there was a letter to acknowledge repeat business. The Restaurant was good too as usual. Great position near the bay. If you are prepared for the older room (in this case) it offers good value for money.

Very enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and the food in the dining room is excellent. Only thing I could suggest is the batroom in room 30 needs upgrading it is looking a little tired. I would recommend this accommodation to friends.
