Public Chicago Hotel Guest Reviews
We travel to Chicago every six weeks to visit our grown sons. We have been very happy at another hotel but were encouraged and excited to try the Public. The hotel and Pump Room are very grand and fun to try. Disappointments - the staff were "ice cold" and the room was so small it was difficult for two people to maneuver the room at the same time. My husband kept telling me that the bed was not the "king" we requested and PAID for, but seeing it was a platform, I did not realize that he was correct until I checked pictures on line, very definitely we ended up with a queen size and paid for a king. The bathroom was postage stamp size--seriously I felt like I was in a college dorm room. We would never return and will tell our friends do not believe all the "hype" about the new PUBLIC hotel.

They just re-opened after an extensive re-model/re-branding. The hotel is great value, but the restaurant is incredibly expensive. The place is hopping at night. Great bar scene.

The property is fantastic -- hip without trying too hard (ala the W Hotel chain). Don't miss the hotel's PUMP House restaurant.

This hotel has a great young vibe. Every staff member I encountered was extremely friendly and very helpful. My room was a tad small compared to other rooms I've stayed in, but was enough to get the job done. I marked amenities down slightly only because it seemed like there was often a long wait for an elevator. Food was awesome though - and I'm pretty discerning about that!
