Location
Surrounded by rolling mountains and exceptional natural beauty, the Protea Stellenbosch Hotel is situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The hotel is in one of the most beautiful and heritage-conscious towns in Southern Africa, Stellenbosch.
Rooms
The hotel consists of 176 rooms, all of which are well decorated and equipped with several modern amenities. Most of the rooms have breathtaking views of the vineyards and Stellenbosch Mountains.
Restaurant
The hotel's Aristata Restaurant offers traditional buffet breakfast, lunch and ala Carte dish. A resident's bar with sun deck overlooking the vineyards and golf course, with mountains as backdrop is the place where you can enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine from the many neighbouring estates.
General

A great place to stay even in the wet weather, just need to get to the restaurant for food. Very quiet area near vineyards with great green areas.

As you might expect in a big chain, very professional, clean and organized but not the same bond you experience in a family guest house. still very recommendable, location is fantastic especially if you're a wine lover like I am !

Check-in very slow and reception staff lacked confidence with systems. Given Twin room when a Double was booked - took nearly an hour to rectify. Upgraded to superior room but it had not been serviced or cleaned properly - bed sheets appeared to have been slept in, no soap or milk in room. Restaurant advertised A la Carte, but only buffet was available.
