I have been all over the world and stayed in countless hotels...this was the worst so far! From the moment we checked in and even after we left. After being evacuated from Ambergris Caye (beautiful) due to an impending hurricane, we ended up at the Princess Hotel and Casino. I booked the room for one night, through Orbitz, and was charged accordingly. At check-in the hotel concierge asked for my credit card to charge me for the room, at an even higher rate than Orbitz. I explained that I had already paid through Orbitz and they just stood there with a vacant look in their eyes. I said I would give my credit card for incidentals but not to pay for the room because that was already paid for. They gladly accepted, took my card and promised I wouldn't be charged for the room. Haha, yeah right! Anyway, onto the room.... I was supposed to receive a king bed room but got two double beds. The A/C did not work, it was dirty, the shower didn't work, the TV didn't work, and the bathroom was disgusting. when I informed them of the room's condition and asked to be moved to another room they looked at me like I was from another planet. Oh, I also paid $10 for one hour of internet service and that didn't work either. When I asked for a refund on that, they had to call in THREE managers and go through about 30 minutes of paperwork to finally issue my $10 refund. When I arrived home, I checked my credit card statement and, what a shocker, they charged me for the room, even though I already paid through Orbitz. Oh, and if you're going with children, you might want to keep in mind that after around 10pm the lobby is literally crawling with pros titutes pouring in and out of the casino. How do I know they're pros titutes??? Because they have absolutely no problem making it abundantly clear. Also, you can't leave the hotel, at all. The locals, the taxi drivers and even the hotel staff tell you that it's extremely dangerous to walk around Belize city due to all of the drug cartels and gang violence. Don't stay here, trust me!

This the second time that I have stayed at this Hotel. The first time was 5 years ago. I cannot complain because they could have charge me for two extra days, due to my late arrival and they did not. The only problem was with my pass key, it was locking me out. I had to go downstairs to get it redone. I plan on going back next year and will stay there again.
