Pousada De Sao Tiago Macau Guest Reviews
Excellent hotel. Full of old world charm. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Location a bit out of the way but easily walkable distances to the action. I would definately sta there again.

This is a beautifully designed and built hotel that has a lot of potential. However, it would benefit immensely from regular maintenance and re-training or replacement of most of the staff and management. Having stayed at the hotel before I was not expecting 5 star service but having a broken airconditioner in my first room, a broken toilet in my second room and then having to move (barefoot and in pyjamas) to a third room on another floor did not change my perception of the hotel any.

Lovely and peaceful, and a great change from the chain hotels. But being small, ''resources'' were stretched at times - such as trying to order room service in the morning. We then found that the ''residue'' of room service were left in the room all day! Room service and restaurants all close at 11pm so do not get back late expecting to be able to order a snack! Obviously the hotel works within tight constraints - my wife wanted to buy one of their tablecloths, but they did not have enough for their own use! Small points compared the overall ambience.

Service in the bar and dining room was very mixed mainly due to poor communication. There was a very poor standard of spoken English by some of the serving staff given that many of the guests are not local. I found this very surprising in a hotel of this type.

No one really understood English so requests for a blanket or ice or room service were not properly answered. Staff was very friendly, but inefficient. For the money you pay ($250) the service should really be much much better. We would probably not stay there again.
