Postcard Inn On The Beach St. Petersburg Guest Reviews
I was warned by a co-worker that this hotel was nothing more than a dingy motel with a paint job. She was almost right. It was a dingy motel with a really bad paint job. I guess the claim of retro "decor" allows them to charge higher fees without having to provide anything more than a lobby with concrete floors, a scatter of college dorm furniture, and a wall of old books. For the price I expected a lot more. Don't let the pictures of the fool you. Our room had plastic floors (yes plastic), plastic furniture, 1970's blue bathroom tiles, and the pool area was barely ho-hum...that is what we got for our money. We actually checked out at 7am because we were so ready to run out of this place.

The hotel as delightful. We had a glitch as the reservation had defaulted to a king bed room, and as I was traveling with my teenage daughter, that was not a good option. However, after waiting a couple of hours, we were assigned to a great room. Loved the retro decorations and also the super bathroom personal products. Can't wait to go back!

We had stayed here on Mothers Day 2010 & had a nice time. We looked forward to this visit as well, but when we arrived it was obvious that the energy of the hotel had changed. It was Party Central - wow! Lots of 20 somethings hanging around the pool drinking and socializing. Now, it was a holiday weekend, so I'm sure that added to it. If we had had very young children we would have been upset because it was definitely not a kid friendly environment, but luckily my 9 & 12 year old daughters just had fun people watching. The staff was very nice, everything was clean and even on such a crowded day we were able to check in early. Our room was clean and the a/c was good and cold. I will say the beds are very comfortable! They used to have a free breakfast but no longer. Walked right across the street to 7-11 for coffee and muffins, but the Snack Shack by the pool offered breakfast. While we were there we rented stand up paddle boards on the beach, had lunch by the pool, had drinks and danced at PCI, the beach bar (even my kids danced to the band and had fun). All & all I can only say very positive things about our stay. The only drawback would be the super party atmosphere by the pool. We checked in on Monday July 4th, and it was wild, but the 5th & 6th were quiet and pretty laid back. Family who had been there over the weekend couldn't stop talking about how crowded and crazy it had been. Regardless, I would go back in a second - just maybe not on a weekend though.
