The closest international airport is Porto, which is 129 km away using the A25 and A1 motorways. There is no railway close to Viseu, but numerous coach lines offer routes to most major Portuguese and Spanish cities.
The roads in town are good and have excellent sign postings, but the city centre is easy to travel on foot.
