Summers are hot and winters are mild in Coimbra, and most of the 73 cm of annual rain falls during the winter months of December through February. Summer highs can reach 24-27°C from June through September, and winter lows stay above 8°C.
Getting There & Around
Transportation to Coimbra is plentiful, as this city is served by two airports in Porto and Lisbon as well as two rail stations, Coimbra A and B. The A1 highway connects Coimbra to Porto (120 km) and Lisbon (195 km). There is a bus station in town as well.
It can be difficult to drive in Coimbra, but most attractions are within walking distance of one another and from the central train station.
