The Algarve-Lagos Rundown
Algarve-Lagos is a major resort area for Portugal as it has over 200 km (124.3 miles) of immaculate beaches and clean, clear waters. Even with its booming tourism, Algarve-Lagos is known to be quite safe and affordable as a holiday spot. You can explore the older inner region of Lagos, which has a lot of tiny shops and eateries as well as the ruins of its ancient fortress walls. The Lagos Zoo offers exhibits of exotic tropical animals. The Museum Municipal Dr. Jose Formosinho is an archaeological museum exhibiting artefacts collected by Dr. Formosinho as well as some local art and other interesting items. If you enjoy visiting historical buildings, the Governor's Castle is right in the centre of Algarve-Lagos along with Antigo Mercado de Escravos.
