Food is expensive but excellent, very romantic , good destination resort. VERY relaxing, VERY beautiful--make sure you book only a Lanai room!

The resort is good in terms of its service and its facilities. Inspite of NO TIPPING POLICY, hotel person still extend the quality service and the efficient service you need. They attend to the needs of every guest in an instant and they even go beyond their call of duty. That is really a 5 star service and 5 star facilities in terms of sports facilities and pool. Rooms are average and I could only rate them as 3 star. Room needs further upgrades to meet 5 star category. Food are excellent. Location is far and is really inconvenient to get a taxi. Hotel car is expensive approximately US$15.00 per trip. But overall, it is an excellent resort. And I would recommend this resort for relaxation but not for business traveller since location is extremely remote and inaccessible to local taxis.

The hotel itself is getting a littel old in terms of the rooms, but the views are fantastic and the facitilities are also very good. Lots of activities to do. The beach is a little small and not very picturesque but there is plenty of sand and pools/lagoons to swim in. The spa was amazing and on a cold day we had we spent there in the hot pools. The service was very good with the staff being very firendly and helping whenever they could.

Nice hotel with lots of privacy area, good for family trip. Transparent tip policy. Paradise for businessman at leisure. Well trained staffs. Very considerate. Some set up activities were not held as planned.

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa Mactan Cebu

There is something odd about a resort on a beach in paradise that attempts to create another reality with its own concrete lagoon. Plantation Bay may be a good place to take children, but it is otherwise too artificial for our tastes. The restaurants were mediocre and (with the exception of the Italian restaurant) service the same. Room service was courteous, but the breakfast offerings meager. We ordered fruit plates and received one small slice each of mango, pineapple and water melon. Cebu is reputed to have the best mangoes in the world. At Plantation Bay, you would think they did not exist.

Otherwise service was excellent. The dive shop was well managed and run. Nonetheless, we will book elsewhere on future trips.

As this was the first time for me to stay at a resort like this I don''t have comparison material. But my impression was good, especially the vast entertainment possibilities within the compounds of this hotel made me like to come back once again.

Plantation Bay Mactan is excellent and nice place and cosy. The staffs are helpful and friendly. Bedroom is lovely and cosy. Restaurant is nice and cool - food is excellent. It is a first class resort without any problem.

This is the third time I have visited this resort, but it is a bit on the pricey side resorts compared to similar places in Thailand.

The cleanliness is almost comparable to Germany. For Philippine cicumstances it is top! Even the housekeeping is top (the tap in the shower did not work, but i didn´t have to tell, the cleaning-personnel realized it and it was repaired immediately). On my arrival I had to wait one hour for a lost suitcase, but no problem on transportation to the resort, the driver was there, 10 minutes after I received my suitcase. Even if Plantation bay takes $ price I will go there next time again.

The resort itself is very nice, super clean, friendly staff and a great place for kids. If you enjoy walks on the beach, this is the wrong place since the beach is not worthy to mention. Restaurants are good, although a bit pricey. Check-in, check-out and handling of requests were professional.

A great resort in which to relax, though we moved on after a couple of nights to visit the "real thing" on the beautiful Bantayan Island.

One of the most relaxing places I''ve ever visited. There''s very little beach but the salt-water lagoon and large freshwater pool make up for it. The ability to use bikes offers a chance for exercise, but there''s not a place to ride except circling the hotel drive. The no-tipping policy is a relief from the constant need to worry about tips that confronts visitors to the Philippines. The restaurants were very good, with a decent selection for vegetarians. The restaurant prices were high, but not out of line for a resort.

The resort is really family friendly. I went there with my wife and three kids (14, 12 and 2 year olds) and everyone had a great time. We stayed for four nights at their waterside room and you can take a few steps and you''re at the lagoon already. We felt pretty safe swimming in their lagoon at 11 o'' clock at night! The resort staff were very friendly and we felt welcomed. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely come back in the near future.

Plantation Bay is a great place with a few downsides: Restaurants are very pricey - alternatively take a cab to Lapu-Lapu or Cebu-City, Hotel transport is extremely pricey - PP 490 compared to appr. PP 100-150 by cab. Ambience is very artificial.

On the very positive side: No tippping. Staff is extremely friendly. Try the spa! It''s worth the PP 300/day.
