Piccadilly Backpackers Hostel London Guest Reviews
The only reason to stay here is its location - walking distance to the tube and Piccadilly Circus. Otherwise, the hostel itself is beyond gross, and I'm not a picky person either. I tried to be in there for as little time as possible. The staff was pretty nice and helpful. I didn't get a chance to print out my voucher from my booking through cheaptickets.com so they just let me email it to them. They gave me sheets and told me my room and bed. The place is pretty much a dump to be straightforward. The room smelled. My bed's pillow had brown stains all over it. The mattress had coils sticking out everywhere and the bunk bed creaked with every little move we made. Then at midnight or so we heard something that literally sounded like a jackhammer go off..it was our fan!!! One of the guys jumped off of his bed to fix it but it went off twice after that. It was sooo loud. It was hard to sleep b/c all I could think about was getting bug bites.

OK, I have to say that the location is perfect, is about half a block from the Piccadilly Circus which is a tourist area, with shops, clubs restaurants, pubs and walking distance to the London landmarks, specially the Buckingham Palace. Also half a block from the Piccadilly Underground (Train) station, which makes it a one train 45 minutes trip from the Heathrow Airport using de Piccadilly line. Also is decorated with art painted in the walls and with a young people environment. My cons are that the is not really customer service, the staff try to help you, but will no go the extra mile to do so, they will just give you the basics. Is an Hostel, you have to share the room and the bathroom, but the showers only have a small curtain and no place to put maybe you towel or clean cloths, even they don't recommend to leave your things unattended. But I think the worst was that they charge you for everything, including towels and the worst of all elevator broken, I was in a 6th floor Hhhmm! But was good enough to spend the night, leave you thing, participate in their activities and most important meet new people.

Its super cheap, so dont expect it to be clean. There are so many guests, all young people partying that you should take earplugs and a sleeping mask. Dont expect the staff to be too helpful. The location is perfect. If you are looking for anything else, pay the extra and try someplace else

Ideal cheap bed for the price however bathroom facilities need modernising.

It' s a very nice hostel. Very nice and friendly staff. The best is the location and priceat the Piccadilly Circus, if you want to make sightseeing or party in London.
