dinning room food and service abysmal. brassiere closed. position of the hotel was really good in relation to Valleta so dinning outside of the hotel did not cause any problems for us.

The room smelled of perspiration after the maids had cleaned. The hotel is undergoing renovations. However, the price seemed to me to be excessive (and I paid half of what is normally charged in Summer). I was in an unrenovated room. Well decorated but the bathroom really needs a total upgrade which they may be doing. Excellent position.

This hotel can be classified as 'unassuming' luxury as everything is very discreet. For older guests more interested in strolling round the town and dining out the location is excellent. Take time to spend a few hours in the gardens that are unusually located and laid out. The staff responded well to some very challenging requests for specialst shops and theatre nbookings.
