This is a nice place to stay. The staffing seems to be a problem. Too little people - too many jobs to do. The room was quite nice - a little cramped in the cupboard area which doubles as the tea making area as well. The coffee is terrible - coffee bags however the tea bags were of good quality. We will return and hope the facilities have improved after the reconstruction is completed.

Myself and my wife chose to stay at the Diamant for our visit to Canberra. It was in a great location for the floriade which was about a 10 minute walk. Parking was offered when we checked in but on a weekend you can actually park on the street for free. Our room was great, very modern and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was great, we had an evening meal there, breakfast was prcing at $22 a head. There is a great cafe/shop around the corner which does great coffee and chilled live music from 10am on a Sunday morning. I would stay here again.

First thing was a complimentary room upgrade - sweet! Went to Canberra to see the Floriade, which was only a 10min walking distance, (because you wont find an easy parking around there), so overall it was great, stayed at the Diamant twice now, no complaints...

We stayed Friday evening to Sunday. Check in was quick, easy and friendly. It took a while to find our room at first...there are many corridors and small sets of steps...but once found, it wasn't a problem after that. In fact, being towards the end of a distant corridor, meant it was very quiet at night. The room was good sized, clean, well maintained and well appointed. The bathroom was big and bright. Perhaps an additional towel or two would have been handy, but that's the only, very minor issue we had. Parking was out on the street. I had no problems finding a spot at any time over the weekend. Location is great, only a 10 minute walk to central Canberra and only a 15 minute walk to Floriade (the main reason for our visit). Food in the restaurant was expensive, but very good. Worth the prices. Overall a great place for a weekend in Canberra. We'll be staying there again.

Upgrading from our previous trip's Deluxe Room to this trips Premier Room was certainly worth the extra money. There was probably twice the space, we had a King size bed rather than a Queen sized one, and the bathroom didn't flood when we had showers. The food in the restaurant was very good and excellent value.

Diamant is a well-appointed and well located hotel. The staff were pleasant, we had a nice dinner on site, and were able to have a small and healthy breakfast at a reasonable price. We had two complaints. Firstly, the bathroom flooded when we showered. Secondly, our room was not make up until after 3pm on our second day, and then only after we had asked.

As a regular business traveler to ACT i have stayed in over 15 different hotels in the area Since this hotel was on special i decided to give it a try. The staff were very helpful, but i found my fellow patrons to be the "ive made it because im staying at the Diamant" type of people. Although the standard room was tiny i had a comfortable stay since it was only one night However the fact that i needed a map to find the hotel parking, (in an adjacent building) and another map to find the hotel gym (in another adjacent building) turned me off ever going there again!

The development in the area has tarnished this hotel. It was once great with a choice of attached restaurants and a wine bar. These have closed with the works going on at present. The hotel itself is going backward, rooms are not as clean, fittings are aging and staff a little clueless. Prices have decreased inline with the downgrade in quality. If Hotel Realm and the Hilton are booked out, this would be my third option.

Hotel is reasonable but a little tired and would benefit from a revamp. Tried to order room service for dinner and after an hour of trying without success had to contact reception to order. Food very average would recommend eating out. Breakfast was no better. Its an ok hotel for the budget conscious who just want a room to sleep in and a shower.

I love boutique hotels and places like this remind me why. Thoughtful decoration, cool and eclectic vibe and a funky but luxurious suite. The king bed was amazing. The staff are chilled and the hotel is fairly quiet considering the location. The beer garden at the rear of the Bicicletta restaurant is definitely worth a visit too. The Diamant is unique in the best way possible. You'll love it.

Front desk staff are next to useless, as they are uni students who work here part time vs real staff - as such on two occasions I had blank looks regarding the location of two well known landmarks. One even helpfully looked it up on line, then marked it incorrectly (wrong side of the lake) on my map. Rooms are tiny! For all their "funky" decor, they reminded me of my room at the uni dorm years ago. The AC blows directly over the bed, so unable to keep it on for long. Don't bother with the cafe/restaurant - I walked out at their atrocious service. Just around the corner is a nice little cafe, and a short walk leads to some enjoyable restaurants. The wifi is a joke. Don't even bother. The only thing going for it is its location.

We (couple) stayed for 3 nights and paid $610 (breakfast not included). The first room was extremely small and management moved us to a slightly bigger room. Very modern and spotless. Quiet and comfortable. Bathroom excellent but dark and needs much better lighting. Internal corridor walls painted mustard(!) with poor lighting giving first, but wrong, impression of a dingy hotel as rooms are the opposite. Staff very friendly and professional. Compared with a similar hotel in Sydney cbd it is too expensive. (The hotel has a bistro and food very good but all the wait staff hopeless, being quite the opposite of the hotel staff.)
