Rooms VERY well worn. Dirty walls, blinds, kitchen utensils. Sofa well worn, promo book for Peppers Club very dirty. Bathroom amenities: No hand soap. Lotion was already half used. Towels were lesser quality than those obtained on the cleaning cart from the staff. The hotel charges for extra towels and any extra cleaning that you may request. It would not be worth it, as their "regular" cleaning leaves much to be desired. The only thing good about this place is the location and fabulous pool settings.

The Hotel and surroundings are very nice, but the experience was tainted by being told that breakfasts weren't included when it was booked specifically, on-line, because breakfasts were included. To exacerbate this, we were swiped for $200 (bond) which was annoying, especially when my partner called back to Peppers to be told that it would be held for 5 days. This we felt, was overkill, as my partner needed that cash that was tied up. On complaining and demanding that the funds be released we were assured it would be immediately. This didn't happen and eventually took about 12 days to release. This seemed spiteful. Not a chain hotel that we will be rushing back to, not to mention on-line "specials".

The lady at reception was friendly but completely ignored anything we said, even though we told her we had stayed at the hotel before and were actually a local couple out for a 'private' weekend, she spoke over the top of us and treated us as if we were children who didn't know where we were. The King Spa room was part of a dual key appartment, the 'spa' room is very small and there is no room to sit other than on the bed itself, no space for a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the newspaper or a cold drink. The spa is actually out on the balcony as is the only chair and table setting. Don't expect any privacy there as the occupants in the adjoining room can open their shutters sparating the rooms and say hello whilst you are in the spa. The room was clammy due to the wet weather and felt cold, even with the air conditioner turned up to 25 degrees.

Booked at a great rate <AUD$150, room was top floor (no lift) but we were travelling without kids so no worries. The town itself is beautifully set along the esplanade lined with palm trees. Not much to do but use the hotels great lagoon pool and swim up bar, walk along the beach and eat, eat, eat. Lots of nice restaurants to try. Suggestions... An evening meal at Angsana out on the decked area great for couples and families. The food and atmosphere at Vivo. A cab from the airport costs almost $60, you can rent a car for about the same price for the day and stock up at the shopping centres at Smithfield on the way to palm cove. AVIS has a booking office in Palm Cove and it costs no extra to drop the car off at the airport. The visit to Port Douglas reaffirmed our choice of Palm Cove as the best place for a relaxing couples or Family vacation. Peppers has the best resort pool in the area for kids. We desperately want to go back with our 4. Sea Temple a close second.

We stayed over Xmas, they have a lite staff during this time with only 1 of their restos open & only express h-keeping. We were given a letter with this news & if you wanted a reg cleaning you just had to request it. We had checked in late at nite & the room looked as it had a cursory cleaning but we found hair in the bathroom, dust where we were supposed to put our clothes, so we requested a full cleaning for the next day. When we returned from touring this hadn't been done & I asked again for the next day & was told that they would have to talk to the Mgr & see if they could accommodate us. Still no service. When we took our kids down to eat dinner the resto was full since they didn't have staff. They finally sat us and we were able to have dinner. This is the Service Industry &the bread & butter is during the holidays. If anything there should be more staff to service the higher occupancy and if you have to pay holiday pay so be it, isn't that why the rates are higher on holidays?

Very nice location/pool facilities. Great location, ideal for families with children as they have the sandy lagoon pool. Furniture in room a little tired and in need of an upgrade. All staff were excellent.

For the ultimate indulgance in luxury, at a premium price of course. I loved every minute spent in the Ocean View Spa room, but staying longer than a weekend will damage even the healthiest of bank accounts. The spa was great, and the whole room just oozed class.

Great hotel. Loved the spa tub on the balcony. Peppers has a large pool in the center of the hotel with lots of children swimming and playing. They gave us an upgrade to a nice quiet room in the back. Great for a honeymoon and thanks for the free champagne!

Very pleasant location with good facilities although some parts of the hotel are looking a bit tired. The ocean view rooms can be a bit noisy at night time with the restaurant/bar activity downstairs. Very helpful and pleasant staff.

Very nice rooms, though the one bedroom rooms with a spa that don't face the ocean are a bit small. I would definitely return. Aside from nice furnishings and a very comfortable bed, the hotel has excellent restaurants, the nicest pool area in Palm Cove, and little nicities such as milk in your fridge for tea and coffee, a pillow menu for you to select your perfect pillow and of course the fantastic spas on the balconies.
