The lady at reception was friendly but completely ignored anything we said, even though we told her we had stayed at the hotel before and were actually a local couple out for a 'private' weekend, she spoke over the top of us and treated us as if we were children who didn't know where we were. The King Spa room was part of a dual key appartment, the 'spa' room is very small and there is no room to sit other than on the bed itself, no space for a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the newspaper or a cold drink. The spa is actually out on the balcony as is the only chair and table setting. Don't expect any privacy there as the occupants in the adjoining room can open their shutters sparating the rooms and say hello whilst you are in the spa. The room was clammy due to the wet weather and felt cold, even with the air conditioner turned up to 25 degrees.

We provided feedback to reception about one of the reception staff who wasn't overly helpful, otherwise, all fantastic!

Booked at a great rate <AUD$150, room was top floor (no lift) but we were travelling without kids so no worries. The town itself is beautifully set along the esplanade lined with palm trees. Not much to do but use the hotels great lagoon pool and swim up bar, walk along the beach and eat, eat, eat. Lots of nice restaurants to try. Suggestions... An evening meal at Angsana out on the decked area great for couples and families. The food and atmosphere at Vivo. A cab from the airport costs almost $60, you can rent a car for about the same price for the day and stock up at the shopping centres at Smithfield on the way to palm cove. AVIS has a booking office in Palm Cove and it costs no extra to drop the car off at the airport. The visit to Port Douglas reaffirmed our choice of Palm Cove as the best place for a relaxing couples or Family vacation. Peppers has the best resort pool in the area for kids. We desperately want to go back with our 4. Sea Temple a close second.

We stayed over Xmas,they have a lite staff during this time with only 1 of their restos open & only express h-keeping. We were given a letter with this news & if you wanted a reg cleaning you just had to request it. We had checked in late at nite & the room looked as it had a cursory cleaning but we found hair in the bathroom, dust where we were supposed to put our clothes, so we requested a full cleaning for the next day. When we returned from touring this hadn't been done & I asked again for the next day & was told that they would have to talk to the Mgr & see if they could accommodate us. Still no service. When we took our kids down to eat dinner the resto was full since they didn't have staff. They finally sat us and we were able to have dinner. This is the Service Industry &the bread & butter is during the holidays. If anything there should be more staff to service the higher occupancy and if you have to pay holiday pay so be it, isn't that why the rates are higher on holidays?
