The hotel is located opposite the airport and is surrounded by fields and mountains. There is a sports centre across the road and tennis courts next to the hotel.

The rooms are spacious as well as similar in design and decor with plain furnishings and fixtures.
Restaurant
There is a winter garden restaurant, which offers international cuisine as well as typical Tyrolean specialities. The Tyrolean style breakfast room sits 70 people and overlooks the mountains.

Located not far from the airport I was expecting to be disturbed by air-traffic - that was not the case. It was well isolated from external noise. The internal accoustics transmitted noise more than I like. My room was quite spacious had been recently rennovated in contemporary style with wooden floors. The bed was more comfortable than what you get in most European hotels. I missed not having an in room safe. Food was good and service efficient. Getting to the hotel by car is simple and convenient. There is ample car parking oposite the hotel. I would stay there again.

For a 4 star hotel we were very disapointed. The bathroom was horrible and old and the separate toilet smelt like urine! The reception area and dining room are very nice so you get a false sense of what to expect from the rooms. It was by far the worst accomodation that we stayed in throughout our trip. The other places we stayed were 3 star so we were both expecting a LOT more, judging by the rating and the price!!!!! Also, the booking confirmation we received when we booked on line said that we would receive a hot buffet breakfast, all we got was cold continental. A bit of a disapointing end to an otherwise fantastic holiday.

Fantastic, the staff were very friendly and made my stay most enjoyable. The front desk staff member would go out of her way to make sure guest were happy. Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Excellent location, walking distance from the airport and bus to city from outside of hotel. The rooms are furnished rather sparsely. However, the hotel is good value.

When I booked I was not aware that there are 2 Hotel Penz in Insbruck which belong to the same group. One is at the airport (the one I had booked) and the other in the center of Insbruck. Since I wanted to stay in the center I changed booking, so I am unable to evaluate Sport Penz Hotel.
