Pensione Seguso Hotel Venice

Small hotel (as most are in Venice), with character and friendly staff. Our room had views of the canals, but you had to lean out of the window to see it. I'm sure other rooms have better views so it may just be luck of the draw. I probably wouldn't stay there again, but more so because there is so much to see as opposed to not liking the accom. I rate it 3/5

A friend suggested staying a little away from St marks, and yes, this was the place, our room overlooked two canals. This was a great old well stay. Nothing could beat sitting at the cafe next door and watch the sun go down over the canal and all the boat traffic.

Lovely old pensione in excellent location for the vaporetti on the Grand Canal and the Giudecca. Very sedate. Only moan is that the two beds I had (I changed rooms halfway through to get an en suite) were less than comfy.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It was in an excellent area, our room was very cute, and best of all had excellent windows for great views and air circulation. Breakfast was typically light in the Italian fashion, but at least they offered something. I also noticed on my way out the final morning that they offer packed picnics which I thought could be worth looking into. At any rate, it's a nice touch to what could make a stay even more romantic!

Charming pensione in a quiet but beautiful position. The period furnishings in bedroom and breakfast room were balanced by the modern bathroom. The breakfast was typical Italian continental and staff were extremely obliging. A very enjoyable stay in trying times (Icelandic volcano having caused some difficulties with transport home).

Extremely basic hotel. After staying in other hotels I was slightly disappointed. Then I remember that it is only two stars. Very old, but quite clean and comfortable stay. Close to the vaporetto station to the airport and to the train station. Hand location. Breakfast was pretty basic, a slice of fruit bread, a bread roll and packet toast with butter, cheese and jam. Not worth the breakfast included deal, or perhaps Venice is just really expensive?

5 Minute walk to San Marco square. Shared bathroom but very clean. Great location on the corner of a small and large canal. Would stay there again. No coffee or tea making facilities

Excelent lacation in the heart of the Venice, (especially for the price we had=88 EUR triple room/night) we had a room with view on the canal which we realy enjoyed. Nice and helpfull staff, breakfast usual, could be more bread or pastries. Aquipment is old but makes nice atmosphere of the old family tradition (silver cutlry from 19th century for example). We were very satisfied.

We stayed in a room on the first floor with shared bathroom though we had a sink/bidet in the room. The room was nice, felt very venetian in a shabby-chic kind of way. Our room had a window overlooking the canal which was quiet on the weekend but quite a bit noiser on a Mon & Tues morning so be weary of this! Breakfast downstairs was basic but good. Shared bathrooms were clean though smelt a bit "drainy". The hotel staff were good particularly the charming older manager who spoke excellent english and many other languages. Location was great. 2 mins walk from Zattere waterbus terminal and very easy to find which is a blessing in Venice!! Another 5 mins walk to Ponte dell'Accademia. Would definately recommend.

Fantastic view from Canal side rooms but can be noisy from boat traffic. No air conditioning, very old plain rooms. Breakfast consisted of coffee and rolls. Great location though.

In a lovely building full of antique furniture and fixtures. Breakfast is limited, but given the price one shouldn't complain too much. Be aware that some rooms do not have bathrooms; however there are several shared bathrooms on each floor, some of which contain the largest baths I have ever seen.
