went to Manila for the first time ever and was advised to stay at makati, got a good rate through orbitz for the peninsula, and what a great treat. The location of the hotel is perfect, with easy acess to everything, and the staff was so helpful. I got a weekend rate which included breakfast, but at checkout found out that breakfast was only for the weekend, and I was charged for the extra days, but when I complained that it was not clear at checking in and reservation, the hotel waived the charges from the bill and were very understanding about it. The rooms, lobby, restaurants, bars, and spa are just amazing and the staff make you feel so safe and welcome.

If you're after a five star hotel with the lot, stay at Manila Pen. The lobby restaurant serves both English and Filipino dishes. So yummy. One of the best hotels I've stayed in.

This is the best hotel is Makati Manila. Service, price, status, everything. If you're after the best hotel in the hottest shopping area, you can't pass up Manila Pen.

Very nice place, but the rooms need updating a bit. A little musty and old for a 5 star hotel!

Nice room in the newly refurbished Makati wing. Nice recreation area with outdoor swimming pool and gym, shielded from the busy Makati city center. Pleasant relatively low building compared to many near by hotels. Walking distance to good shopping area.

Having stayed in many hotels across SE Asia, I wouldn't necessarily rank The Peninsula Manila as anything special above the rest. The rooms were nice and clean, however, I have been in better, especially for the price. They have attempted to squeeze in as much furniture as possible into the room's area. Receiving Room Service requires some furniture movement for the trolley to get into the room. Arrival and check-in was painless, but the room had been prepared for 1 pax instead of two as per my booking, although housekeeping rectified this upon request. Breakfast is a bit chaotic with relatively little awareness of how many people they were expecting. I don't want to be too negativeand I could write a few things more, but needless to say, this is a nice hotel in a good location, however, it is most certainly not one of the leading hotels in SE Asia, never mind the world, so I don't see the justification for the expensive room rates.

The coffee shop, Nielsen''s, has the best buffet in Makati. The bands in the Conservatory are excellent and you can still hear yourself think!

In general one of the finest addresses in Makati, most major attractions are in walking distance, which helps considering the crazy traffic situation down town....The rooms are truly 5 star, the pool area is great. The conservatory offers superb live music. In general a quality hotel to feel good.

The Peninsula has the great reputation, location, and lobby ambience, but some setbacks including; no elevator service to the car parking levels, and a ridiculously complicated system for letting vehicles out of the car park. In addition, the carpet in one of the rooms had a mildew smell. We requested it be cleaned but it was not done.

The rooms were clean and well attended to by the friendly cleaning staff. The pool and gym facilities were good, although I feel the changing rooms for the swimming pool will need some re-decoration in the not too distant future.
