Pavillon Courcelles Parc Monceau Paris

After booking the hotel I had a bit of a panic attack because there were so many negative reviews of it and many of them said that it needed renovation. I thought I'd add my two-cents as an updated version of what's out there. The hotel was in a good location; there were metro stations very close by and almost everything we wanted to see was easily accessed. We stayed in a very recently renovated room, opposite a room which was being renovated, and the renovations had obviously been done very cheaply - understandable given the economy, but if you're expecting luxurious accommodation look elsewhere. The bed was simple, but had no duvet - bring a spare blanket if you have issues staying warm! There are two hotplates and a fridge, but no oven and no saucepans - so really, the hotplates are only useful if you're bringing your own saucepans. The bathroom we had was fresh but water leaked from both the sink and the shower - lovely sound during the night, but not so bad that it flooded. The only reason I'm not giving top marks for Staff is that they took a photocopy of my passport (apparently standard procedure?...) and didn't explain why they were doing it beyond that they 'do it for everyone'. Generally they were friendly and nice. There's always someone at the desk. The wi-fi was slow, but it worked - but we were on the ground floor so can't comment for the rest of the hotel! As per usual, breakfast price was massively marked up - for 8€ you can go out into the streets and buy wonderful Parisian bread, a nice coffee, and a good magazine. It's up to you, though! Would I stay there again? Maybe. If I couldn't find a hotel for the same price elsewhere - but there are definitely some out there! Then again, I at least know what to expect here!

The location is fine - close to a Metro station and with many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. The room - even if it was called "Luxe" - was very small and not well maintained, in particular the bathroom could need a handyman to fix a number of things.

This hotel was conveniently located at Villiers metro station (which is on 2 useful lines), however, it is tucked away so if you are arriving via metro, make sure you know the way to the hotel. It is also close to the Velib public bike sharing system, which was an excellent way to get around and see Paris. We were on the 6th floor and could see the Eiffel tower from our window, however, the free wifi did not reach us (so we had to be in the small lobby for connection). The room was small, but clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the stove and fridge, however, no kettle. Overall, a pleasant place to stay in Paris.

Good location, a short walk from cafes restaurants a supermarket, and a metro station. only a few stops from The Arc de Triomphe, Moulin Rouge and other sights. Unfortunately the room I was in was not air-conditioned, even a ceiling fan would be a good idea, as it was very hot.

Paris is an expensive city and this hotel reflects that. Our room had a kitchenette but did not have a kettle, dish washing liquid, tea towel or even sufficient lighting around the sink. We did save a lot of money though as we had a 2 element stove top and microwave. Location is quite good, there are lots of places to eat and food shopping is great. The post office is also down the road. The train station was about a 5 - 7min walk (depending on how fast you walk) but we always changed at Opera to get anywhere. The internet was terrible! We had to go to McDonalds to use the internet there. Hotel staff were friendly. The shower is tiny so you need to be careful.

A great locality, close to Villiers Metro station and the next block from local street market, where we enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. We had a leisurely walk through beautiful Parc Monceau to The Arc d Triomph & on to the Eiffel Tower

The hotel is correct. Prices a little higher. Probably it would be useful to specify which metro station is near in order to orientate taxi drivers which mix up with the street. Everything else fine.

Good location and room is clean. Service is good and polite overall. Had a leak in my bathroom but was fixed promptly. The bed is actually a sofa bed. Room is crammed but has microwave, fridge and stove. Do not expect housekeeping to clean the dishes. No sponge/detergent are provided for cleaning them either. This hotel is for those who do not intend to spend a lot of time in the room nor those with back problems (sofa bed). For us, it was adequate and value for the price (discounted by booking online with [Your Website].

Stayed in the apartment x 4 with 2 young children. Very cosy but then did not spend too much time in. The benefit was being very central and the pricing was reasonable.

I would not recommend anyone to stay here. One of the staff was very rude and told us that he could not wait until we left. The freezer did not keep things frozen, the pay tv did not work (althogh that was not their fault it was the operators fault), we slept on the floor the first night as the sofa bed as as lumpy as a camels back and the hairdryer did not work. It was close to a Metro station but you had to transfer to get to any 'sights'.

This place was really hard to find, the street numbers double up. We asked about three different people and one guy about twice. We went around the block heaps of times and after about half an hours extra drive we finally found it. Once we did it was good. We were really relieved when the girl on the desk spoke English. Apart from having to wait for our room to be cleaned when we arrived, it was a lovely stay. The breakfast was really great and it was a nice spot to be in. Not too far to walk to the train station, shops and even the market down the road. We had a nice time in Paris. If you are going to Paris from NZ make sure you get a visa card that will work in the local cash machines as we had a lot of trouble with that and trying to find a bank that would give us money. It was fine to buy things we just couldn''t get out cash. Their cards have a chip on them and our visa card didn''t. If you do stay here you will have a nice time.

Good private owned hotel with an excellent location within paris. Would recommend it due to a very helpful staff and a great breakfast buffet. One negative aspect: Very tiny rooms (at least the standart appartement) with no space to move around in the room.
