Lovely service and welcoming attitude from staff at desk and cafe; nice clean rooms; good access for large 4WD vehicles; handy location on main Sydney-Canberra route

The Hotel was very impressive with its tropical setting, swimming pool and Gym. Staff were friendly and polite.Only downside is the fact that if someone has a shower in the middle of the night either side of where you are lodging the noise from the water pressure in the pipes is bound to wake you up, likewise if you have noisy neighbours you won't get much sleep either ! Apart from that all good !

This motel is a wonderful place to stay while you are in Canberra. The staff were great, lovely clean rooms, parking at the door, close to everything and great value. But the nicest part is the beautiful gardens in the centre of the hotel that make it such a wonderful, peaceful place to stay.

We had a wonderful time in Canberra staying at this Hotel but after almost 4 weeks in Australia staying in various Hotels across the country we found WiFi connection to be be very expensive compared to all of the other hotels (most were complementary)

The receptionist was friendly and helpful, creating a favourable first impression. The room was large and quiet, and our room at the back looked to a fine row of trees. The one fault in the room was a too soft and unsupportive mattress. The parking area is fenced and secure. The bar and dining area have great atmosphere under the tent-like pavillion roof, with no noise echo making it easy to talk to others. Menu is so-so and expensive - better to walk 10 minutes to Dickson for a wide choice of eateries. Breakfast, as in most hotels, is expensive for what you get and the coffee, either the free one from the urn or the bought one from the espresso, is awful. Although I have found faults, the Pavillion is above average for Canberra, which lacks good value accommodation.

good value hotel in a good location. Breakfast was a little disappointing-cold coffee! Would recommend it as a good base to explore Canberra.

My partner and I wanted to go for a week long getaway, and being a former Canberra resident I knew exactly the hotel and its location. The location was a bit of a walk to Civic (the city centre) which didn't bother us, but very close to Dickson which is great for dining out. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which we upgraded to (at a cost). The room had been redecorated and was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The only negatives I can comment on are one of the days the room wasn't serviced leaving us with no clean items. And as a suggestion, maybe get rid of the shower gels, shampoo etc which are in wall mounted squeeze tubes - these are very ancient, not to mention the contents weren't very nice and I doubt the were different at all despite the labels. Overall, a lovely pleasant stay and I'd recommend The Pavilion.

We enjoyed staying here. Good food served in the charming plant-filled atrium. Staff very helpful. As Canberra is so spread out we were lucky not to have to rely on public transport as the hotel's not within walking distance of the tourist stuff.

I was in Canberra on business. This 2 bed room was ideal for an overnight stay. Room service was efficient, a little overpriced for steak and chips... nothing fancy. The $19 breakfast was Ok but eggs too salty! The waiter offered to cook extra eggs and was very polite with the feedback offered. Secure, free parking a plus.

Comfortable, conveniently located hotel...carpets and fittings a little tired, overall acceptable for the price. We stayed 2 nights, the first was quiet but no staff told us that a wedding was being held above our room on the 2nd night and the noise was enough to keep us awake. We phoned reception after 3 hours of putting up with the noise to be told about the wedding at that it would finish at 11.00 pm....at 12.15 we rang again to be told they would check...when we talked to reception in the morning we were told that had talked to guest who check in on Saturday but not those who were guests prior to then. As we were leaving early Sunday morning to drive back to Queensland we expected a decent nights sleep and this was not forthcoming..The staff were not at all supportive .......we had considered staying here again for a longer stay but will now consider alternatives

The hotel room called delux is very small. The so call king bed is actually two single beds put together. Also at the check out I was over charged and I drove half hour back to the hotel to get the refund. The hotel call themselves 4 1/2 stars I would rate them 3 stars , it is overpriced .

A comfortable hotel. Foyer a little dated, but comfortable and relaxing. Restaurant had great food. Room was comfortable and clean. Noise from room next door travelled through the air conditioning vent and kept us up until 11:30pm. Went to reception to comment and they were great, dealt with the problem. (Should have gone down earlier) Overall a very pleasant visit. Would stay there again.

This place was a little dated, but for what we paid it did the job. Greeted by a friendly reception person, we were offered an upgrade for a small fee, but we chose to stay with what we booked (we weren't intending on being at the hotel much). Didn't have alot to do with the staff, but what little we did, they seemed friendly and efficient. Quite a busy place... carpark was almost full, but didn't reflect in the noise of the complex - it was surprisingly quiet, except for the odd shower running (older style place). Comfy bed for my liking. I would recommend this accommodation - Great value for money!

comfortable place to stay, breakfast not included. Lots of restaurants of all nationalities just 10 minutes walk away around the corner, so dinners were not a problem. Hotel also has a restaurant.
