Pausania Inn is immersed in the naturalistic beauty of Gallura, just 30 kilometres from the renowned white sand beaches of Northern Sardinia. The hotel is located a kilometre in the outskirts of Tempio Pausania town centre.

Unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions during our time of stay, our review is influenced by that fact. I do not recommend this hotel outside the season as it is in high mountains and the weather there is usually rainy. It is dark and they do not have insode pool or any other free-time-pass by facility. It is a very nice hotel, but the quality of the buffet breakfast is poor in my opinion. There was always the same choice of salami and cheese, eggs (only boiled), white soft bread or brown toast and no vegetables such as tomates or cucumber. This was in all hotels in Sardinia and we found that very bad. Other than that the hotel was nice.

The staff on duty were excellent, and very helpful. One comment: We were unfortunate to have a part/week of Mistral, which meant that it was very windy and cold. We did not realise that air conditioners also served as heaters. Info here useful. Given that November is off-season we understood why no meals other than (a very adequate) breakfast were available and hence the lower 'facilities' rating above.. This would be different, I expect in peak-season. The road-signs from Alghero Airport....particularly in Sassari..were inadequate, and caused extra travel due to misinterpretation of signage information in the dark. This is not the fault of the hotel, but perhaps the hotel web site could give more specific information on how to get to Pausania. The town of Pausania was disappointing, other than the centre, and finding good eating places was a problem. Overall however, I think that the Pausania Inn Hotel was very good value, and deserves a high rating. Patrick D.. Ireland
