Some staff customer service training would not hurt for check in and cobwebs from hotel windows could be cleaned every few months or so, rather than every spring - must have missed it this year. Windows should be replaced when broken; cardboard is not a long term solution or a guest should be advised if there was a recent problem. I recommend replacing lunge room furniture; sofa is, well, cheap and run down and the tables are a bizarre choice (but far less bizarre than positioning of the painting in the bedroom; you have to see this). Overall, disappointing but with a little effort, they can quickly improve. Until then, we won't be revisiting. There are many better hotels on the strip with similar pricing.

We were pleasantly surprised with the room and breakfast. The room was good and bed was comfortable, including a small kitchenette. Breakfast was quite nice and freshly cooked. Location is good, with easy car and tram access to the City and to nearby St Kilda. Car parking underneath for $15 was okay. On a weekend though one could easily park on the street in front - many others do.

Jan 2013 - Such a great stay for my 30th birthday night out. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Our room was so clean and spacious and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever been in. No excess noise from the street and we topped it off with a lovely cooked brekkie at the cafe underneath. Will definitely stay again! Taxi tip - it's quicker to hail one on the roadside.

The stay was nice and close to the location of the cbd of Melbourne. Also for last minute booking very happy with the price of the room but not the extra charges at the hotel and there system of holding money on creadit card. Also on arrival sofa bed was not made up, last minute organised by hotel

Absolutely fabulous location. Far enough from the CBD to get away from the noise and paying extra $$ Trams every 10 mins to get you into the CBD, you are there in no time! Convenience store located directly across the road for forgotten items. Cafe located downstairs which do room service. Room was much larger than expected, very clean, great amenities

Pleasant hotel in nice area. Good value for money. Car parking is limited and to a height of 1.7m, so our 4WD would not fit and had to park it on the street. No weekend parking restrictions, but not many spaces available. About 4km walk to Flinders Street station, so not really walking distance. Hotel ordered us a cab and it was waiting for us when we got down to the lobby. Ajoining cafe for breakfast was average. Shower in bathroom ran hot and cold, so hard to get the temperature just right. Hotel staff friendly. We just had a room, rather than an apartment and found it very spacious and clean.

When you stay in Melbourne and want a quiet place to rest each night the Griffin Suites is the place. As regular traveller to Melbourne I have stayed here alot over the years. Close to St Kilda and only a short tram ride to the City. The walk down St Kilda Road from the city is easy to if you are energetic. Try it you'll like it...

we choose to stay at this property because of the room space & location. Therefore some other factors could do with improvement.

Nicely centrally located, friendly staff and good food in Purple Bar. Some window blinds/curtains/painted walls could do with minor repairs/refurbishing.

I stay at this property about six times a year and have have done so for the past eight years or so. Provided I am allocated a refurbished room, the stay is usually very pleasant. I imagine that most of the rooms are now spruced up. The single elevator allocated to guests is slow and the cause of the only frustration with the property.

Dissappointed to find behind a lounge chair there was a hole in the wall where a previos heater was it wouldn't have taken much to patch wall and give it a coat of paint. Matteress on bed was noisy every time you turned, over a poor quality mattress, also toilet seat had a plug missing on it,for a hotel to be featured on tv we were a tad dissappointed. Regards

I would not stay here again. Reception staff were not helpful and rude at times. Lift, stove and DVD didn't work. Not enough parking, and parking bays were too small, some cars were damaged. Was charged for internet use. Coffee shop food was average and over priced. This was rated as 4 star, I would give it a 2 if that.

The room was very clean except the blinds were very dusty. Also only one pillow each, and some parts of the hotel were very old ,mainly walking from your car to get to your room and the private parking was a extra $12.oo and a extremely tight squeeze but otherwise was fine.Breakfast was delicious. I would stay here again.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and the accomodation was excellent. A full kitchen, with 2 full bathrooms plus modern design and furnishings. We would high;y recommend. The hotel is very close to St Kilda and a great base to tour Melbourne from.
