Lovely older style building just out of the main part of town. Easy walking distance to the Octagon. Bit noisy on Friday night but in a city one might expect and indeed want just that. Enjoyed the bath.

Was originally allocated a small (almost) windowless internal room. But on complaint, staff were very helpful in reallocating us to a much more light-filled room, even if not bigger -- despite a very full house.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mecure in Dunedin. We had opted for a superior room as I had seen previous reviews that said the standard rooms were quite small. Our superior room was spacious and clean and had one of the most comfortable king size beds that we have ever slept in. Unfortunatley opposite our room on the side street was the "Musicians Club" which played terribly loud music into the wee small hours of the night which put dampner on our stay and reduced the overall rating that we gave this hotel.

This hotel was older but still modern inside. Our room was on the 4th floor. However, once you reached the 4th floor you had to walk down a set of stairs to get to the room. This was difficult with suitcases etc. Our room did not have a window you could see out of which made the room dark and gloomy. We ended up parking on street to avoid the valet fees.

Good modern hotel just a short walk from city centre of Dunedin - impressive old style exterior but modern rooms (if on the small side) and bathroom. Note parking is done via valet as no parking facilities nearby. Everything you'd expect from a Mercure and as a place to base in Dunedin for a few days then can recommend. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Hotel and staff were very nice but the room was a bit small for a family room. (2 cups for a family of 4 and no space to move around one of the beds). But Overall, it was value for money and comfortable

Very small room and bathroom, ironing board hooked up on the wall, thick black mould at washing basin. The 2nd bed was practically at the door. TV was badly positioned as the person sitting on bed near the door would not be able to watch the tv. Reading lights above beds were too deem. Comparatively for that price we could have better rooms.

Facade of hotel has been kept in older style, but has been refurbished inside.Don't get a room at the back as you won't fit in, it's so small. Moved to a room at the front much bigger.Staff very helpful.
