Park Plaza Riverbank London Hotel
4 out of 5

The staff was very friendly. The rooms are smallish but very clean and high end, 4 starish for sure. Only the location is a bit of a compromise. It felt just slightly dodgy as we walked the 4 blocks to the Vauxhall tube stop. Not near shopping or great restaurants. Very good value.

The hotel has not managed to resolve the issue I complained about following our first stay, namely, how to serve a hot breakfast. We waited until the fresh servings were brought out from the kitchen in the hope of hot scrambled egg and bacon but concluded that either the food was cold from the kitchen or the residual cold food had been tipped into the bowl as our servings were barely lukewarm. This is such a shame as the quality of the food was obviously high. Rooms are comfortable but lighting is poorly designed and does not allow for one guest to read in bed whilst a partner sleeps - it's all or nothing! If I stay again I will have to remember to pack a torch.

A very impressive Hotel. We had an executive room on the top floor with what must be one of the best views in London overlooking the river towards the Houses of Parliament. The staff we met were extremely helpful at reception, concierge, on the door and in the restaurants. Breakfast was busy but only to be expected as the hotel was full. Excellent location within walking distance of the sites but relatively quiet. I would definately recommend this hotel

We had a great one night break last Saturday at this hotel. Hotel was stylish and impressive. Room was modern with air con and lovely bathroom. TV/DVD in room with an abundance of toiletries for guests, including fruit portions. We ordered drinks at the bar and forgot to take them up to our room; we phoned down and staff offered to bring them up for us - so very helpful. One grudge; this was an online booking for an Executive Double (smoking) and when we got there found our booking was for non-smoking; only smoking room available had shower in bathroom, but no bath - but not a real problem as we were going straight out. Book early for a river view - you can see House of Commons from other side of river.

The in house 'Chino Latino' restaurant is nice, although make sure you check your bill! I was charged for two drinks that we did not have! You also get a 25% discount if staying in the hotel - your room there is a discount voucher. Only a 5 min walk from Vauxhall station, so quite handy

A lovely room with great facilities. We stayed in a room alongside the railway and this made it very loud, also a fire station near by so generally a lot of noise.

Check in was a long process and the girl on the desk didn't understand enough English to realise that I had paid a deposit already so I had to leave it until I checked out - which meant instead of handing keys in we had to queue for about 15 minutes to check out and make sure we had paid the correct amount. We were first put in the wrong room as I had asked for a double room so were then swapped. We wish we had taken an executive room as it would have worked out a lot cheaper as drinks in the bar were so expensive that the extra £30 for the better room would have covered less than 3 rounds of drinks for the 2 of us, also we would have got a breakfast aswell. The hotel itself was lovely and clean and very modern, just a shame we had a view of the railway track and high rise blocks!

Although i have stayed at this hotel previously, i had upgraded to an executive room for this occassion. The check in counter was busy and when i was dealt with the computer system did not recognise my or my partners bank cards to leave an imprint and after alot of hassle i was forced to leave the hotel and obtain the cash from a money machine. Hardly a great start. It took less time to get from Paddington station in a taxi than it did to check in. The complimentary tray for executive guests was not in the room like we were told and we had to ring down for the tray and even for the mini-bar to be activated. Only one robe was received but we had given up by then! The executive lounge was nice enough but the wine was far from executive, flavouless and cheap would best describe it. The bar on the ground floor is very nice and offers table service, at a price, which adds to a relaxing ambiene unrivaled by many large hotels. Overall a lovely hotel that offers good last minute deals.

A new smart and stylish hotel that caters for business functions very well. Banqueting standards are high and the staff are willing. A good location next to the Thames. Bedroom decor isn't to everyone's taste. Overall, a very good all-round experience.

The hotel was situated in a lovely part of London close to many attractions. It was very clean and very good value for money. The major problem I experienced was when the fire alarm went off and I tried to exit the building via the designated fire exit. The external fire escape door at the bottom of a stairwell was jammed shut. Staff were very confused and unable to assist in directions or what was happening. This was all very worrying for such a new hotel.

Very nice, new hotel on the south bank of the Thames, just a short walk from Waterloo station. Unfortunately, our room was on the south side of the building with a view over the railway tracks, but it was well insulated so there was little noise. Good value.

Very stylish and modern hotel, and they have sorted out the air-conditioning. Quite a trek from the tube station [Vauxhall]. Wireless broadband at hotel.
