What an amazing place!! My brand new husband and I honeymooned here in Ocotober 08 and it was pure unadulterated heaven!! We just wish we could go back right away!!

Yes we would recommend the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the restaurants, especially the Indian buffet. There were a few negatives, such as kitchen ventilator spewing cooking smells over the Frog Pool area, the debris floating in the sea and a foul smell in the first room we occupied, which was thought to be a dead lizard in the A/C system! We subsequently changed rooms from our beach front villa to a garden villa, which we found to be equally attractive.

The brochure image of the place does fit reality. It is absolutely beautiful. Especially, the gardening was very well looked after. Everywhere palm trees and flowers. Very aesthetic and relaxing. Best thing was a massage near the beach with the view on the sea.

Downpoints: the (evening) meals are overpriced. This is particularly annoying as there is nowhere to run to (all the restaurants on the island are part of the resort and equally expensive). A can of beer from the fridge is 18 Ringit (too much !)...They should change the banana sweet shampoo...

This is a beautiful destination resort if you are looking for something different from major chain like resort hotels. We stayed in a sea villa which had a great location but the hill and garden villas also were well placed and mighted be considered better value for money if you are staying for a longer time. I thought the quality and range of food/restaurants here was excellent, and the "Dinner on the Rocks" is not to be missed. However, the price does add up over time, but considering the location and the quality, it''s not unreasonable. The spa''s location overlooking the sea is very tranquil and the 50 meter lap infinity pool has a lot of space so you don''t feel crowded. Emerald Bay is stunning and very uncommercialised.
