Yes we would recommend the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the restaurants, especially the Indian buffet. There were a few negatives, such as kitchen ventilator spewing cooking smells over the Frog Pool area, the debris floating in the sea and a foul smell in the first room we occupied, which was thought to be a dead lizard in the A/C system! We subsequently changed rooms from our beach front villa to a garden villa, which we found to be equally attractive.

The brochure image of the place does fit reality. It is absolutely beautiful. Especially, the gardening was very well looked after. Everywhere palm trees and flowers. Very aesthetic and relaxing. Best thing was a massage near the beach with the view on the sea.

Downpoints: the (evening) meals are overpriced. This is particularly annoying as there is nowhere to run to (all the restaurants on the island are part of the resort and equally expensive). A can of beer from the fridge is 18 Ringit (too much !)...They should change the banana sweet shampoo...

This is a beautiful destination resort if you are looking for something different from major chain like resort hotels. We stayed in a sea villa which had a great location but the hill and garden villas also were well placed and mighted be considered better value for money if you are staying for a longer time. I thought the quality and range of food/restaurants here was excellent, and the "Dinner on the Rocks" is not to be missed. However, the price does add up over time, but considering the location and the quality, it''s not unreasonable. The spa''s location overlooking the sea is very tranquil and the 50 meter lap infinity pool has a lot of space so you don''t feel crowded. Emerald Bay is stunning and very uncommercialised.

Service at pangkor laut is outstanding. As there were no garden villas available we were given a free upgrade to a spa villa which was absolutely amazing. Service was prompt, efficient, and the lunches were great. I would not recommend the chinese restaurant however, food tended to be a little cold. The yoga teacher was great too.

Incredible hotel - we were upgraded (compliment of kind words by Irene at asia-hotels.com to an Overwater Bungalow). The most romantic and relaxing vacation we have ever had. The spa is fantastic and the island is beautiful. The only downside is that because you are on a private island, you are forced to eat every meal at the hotel - which can be pricey. Other that that, this is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED resort for couples and people who love great spas.

Our stay at Pangkor Laut was fantastic. The resort is paradise. We stayed there for four nights in total(on our Honeymoon) and would have loved to stay longer. The Hill Villa we stayed in had an excellent view over the main resort and was a pleasure to wake up to every morning. The service by the staff was also excellent and could not be faulted. There are many different places to eat on the island all serving very good food, drinks are however on the expensive side. The Spa village is like the garden of eden, oozing luxury - a definate must! My only regret is leaving.

A fantastic resort with a very high standard of accommodation. The resort is quite hilly (even those villas described as "garden" villas) but 4x4 vehicles are available to take you from A to B on a regular basis. The villas are relatively private but there are 4 suites per villa in the garden and hill villas, which is not very clearly explained by the hotel''s website. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

Overall stay was relaxing. Total shut off from going-ons of rest of the world except for daily newspaper provided at breakfast. A 2-night, 3-day package is probably a wee bit rushed. Travelling from KL, the best ferry time is 2pm, arriving at Resort at about 3 pm. Checking out at 11am for the ferry ride at 12noon, only day 2 is at your own pleasure. However, judging from those who indulging in pure sun, beach and pool activities, perhaps it would get a bit boring beyond 3 days.

The extremely friendly staff and perfect beach made our visit unforgettable! Great and delicious food in the many restaurants was worth trying. The only negative aspect to be considered is, that the prices for food and drinks are very high!

Excellent resort, limited restaurant choice, and whilst food was good, it was a little expensive for what it was.

The rooms are excellent, the beach divine. Food seems overpriced for what it is, but the room service picnic baskets are WONDERFUL

If only they could tidy up the rubbish around the resort that was floating in the water, it would be a paradise.

The hotel is very good, especially the Villas above the sea. There were some details which bothered us a bit (water bottles not delivered, glasses missing, mix-ups with the check-out time, etc.) as in a hotel of this price and quality level, everything should be smooth. Yet, the overall quality was just amazing and we would really recommend this for people looking for peace and quiet.

Pangkor Laut resort is paradise. We had a fantastic 3 day stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

The staff are extremely efficient and seem to pride themselves on being close at hand when you need them, without them being too conspicuous the rest of the time. The garden rooms are luxurious and the finishing touches make it a very special place. The restaraunts are excellent. I could not fault the place at all. The Spa Village is magnificent and although expensive I would certainly recommend having a treatment and luxuriating in this idillic setting all day. We will definitely be going back once we save up the money.

Relatively private, since the entire island is owned by the resort. Few families--guests are mostly western couples--so the resort is not terribly noisy. Food is not terribly expensive but would add up a bit if you are staying for more than two nights. Little to do except lounging about at the pool or enjoying the scenic Emerald Bay Beach, which is excellent. There's a well-equipped and good-looking fitness center, while tennis and squash courts are usually free. No jungle treks to speak of--the island is too small for any sense of tropical adventure. I would recommend the resort/hotel to a friend, but not for a stay of more than three nights.
