Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel Myrtle Beach Guest Reviews
Upon arrival we discovered that only Ocean front view that was advertised for this special was if you stuck your head out the side door, on the fourth floor and if you were lucky you might be able to see the ocean through a small alley going towards the beach. The balcony was so small that the chairs barely were able to fit at all. There was not enough room to walk past a chair and if you expected to see anything but the side of a brick wall, too bad, because that was all you saw. After killing two roaches in our room, we were awakened at 4 am with what appeared to be drunks in the next room arguing. With doors slamming and screaming it was impossible to sleep at all. We were lucky we found a maid's cart and got a half roll of toilet tissue from the cart as there was no maid around and we were unable to find one to get toilet tissue and also we need wash cloths....none were with the towels. We didn't expect the greatest place in the world, but this was one of the worst places we have ever stayed and would not recommend this to anyone we know. The only saving grace was the breakfast that was a buffet across the street and was delicious. Thank goodness they did not offer breakfast at this motel with their roaches and lack of service....we would have been lucky to get stale bread.

This is the best trip one can have, and the hotel gives you a friendly and nice atmosphere. It also has cooking facilities and the ocean view is spectacular, especially watching the sunrise right from your bed.

You have to know what to expect for what you pay. The hotel is dated but my room was clean & comfortable and I had a partial ocean view. I could actually hear the surf at night which was nice. Unfortunately, I could also hear pretty much everything else - very thin walls. There's a constant action at the hotel and it is obvious they are making improvements. The pools & tubs were cleaned daily and were open until 11:00pm every night. The location was perfect - about 4 blocks to the Skywheel. My trip included a free breakfast buffet at their cafe across the street. The staff was attentive, super-friendly & the food was tasty. I won't hesitate to book again

This hotel was average at best. My 14 year old daughter continually called it a ghetto hotel mostly for cosmetic reasons. The hotel is in need of a more modern decorative scheme. It took 3 tries before the room key was coded correctly. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a partial ocean view efficiency. The room was ok. Given the price, my expectations were low, and the hotel did exceed those expectation. WiFi in the room would be a nice place to modernize. Given all the "negatives" I would still consider staying there again if I was in town again and not looking for room ambiance. This is a no frills hotel, at a no frills price.

The room was old and dated, but for the cost of $33/night right on the beach I guess you cannot complain. The internet access was terrible and the staff didn't know what to do. The hallway and elevators smelled of paint or urothaine (bad).
