We arrived at this Hotel to be told at reception that there was no booking under our name and they didn't recognise the code given us. They sugested we may have been booked into Royal Palm Cairns and after travelling to the other side of Cairns we were told we were not booked in there either. Tired and frustrated we took a room there. Please refund our money paid on the Palm Royale ASAP, Thanks and best regards, Dave

If like me, you are looking for what appears to be a 3 1/2 star hotel resort accomodation; then, this is NOT the one. This hotel is 2 stars and no more. The photos must have been taken 20 years ago, when the hotel was at its best and probably photoshoped. For a start its an old building and in poor shape. The pool photos were very decieving, as it looked like a large and beautiful pool, when in fact it was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos. We opted for the hotel breakfast the 2nd day of a 3 night stay but were turned away as there was no food left. Then comes the cruncher, its so far from Carins you may as well holiday elsewhere - the buses are hopeless from that hotel, can take an hour with a public bus. Or if you catch a taxi, you wont have much change from $20 - so invest that money in a hotel close to the city instead. It was not a good experience.

The room was clean, although dated but clean and comfortable, the A/C had 3 settings all of which resembled the north pole, fan was either slow as a snail or blow your head off, tv was small and dated and only had seven, ten and win or expensive movies as the norm in hotels. It is about 15 mins drive from the esplanade so if you have a car the location is not that bad, parking was available on street as well as hotel has a few spots. The pools were nice and clean and staff was good, we didn't pay for the towels as some previous reviews stated, room service was always prompt. Bottom line: Good option if the price is right, pay around $50-$60 per night or less and its great anything more expensive and I would consider other options closer to the city as car is pretty much necessary if you choose this hotel as its out of the city. Also, Rates to go was great, the hotel had our booking info all good to go, would use it again for sure.

the hotel was in a great location, shopping centre nearby. From the balcony of your room you are surrounded by palm trees, we had the view of the pool, you couldnt even realise the traffic sounds. Sunning views. I would be back again

This hotel is great value. The rooms are spacious and the setting is pleasant. My balcony overlooked the busy road which was noisy at times. In regards to value for money there is no better deal in Cairns.

The pool and sitting area was really nice and clean. The master bed was very comfortable, but singles were a little hard. Room was clean and tidy. Great cheap place to stay. Only recommendation would be more parking spaces and a door mat at the back door.

The hotel is far from the city. The hotel buffet breakfast is overpriced. They advertised electrical adaptors but don't have any. If you want an extra towel to take to the beach, extra charge. If you want to take the hotel shuttle to the city, extra charge. If you want to access the internet, extra charge. The TV has a whopping 4 channels. Bugs in and outside the room

This hotel is in the suburbs of Cairns, near a shopping centre with some fast food as well as other eating places within 150m walk. I have always found the rooms to be clean and providing basic motel equipment such as a safe, iron and ironing board, toiletries, tea/coffee, air con etc - all for a very reasonable price. It is probably best to have your own transport, though city buses are very close, and the hotel offers a shuttle service. Staff at reception have always been very friendly and helpful.

Helpful staff, Rooms/furniture clean and in very good condition. Location at least 10 mins from town - a consideration if you don't have your own transport. I would recommend to others.

I was very unimpressed at the way the hotel was described as being central, when it was some 15 minutes and a $20 taxi ride out of town. It was also in a desert of poor quality malls with almost no eating facilities, and certainly none that offered a reasonable or healthy option to the hotel's pricey (for what it was) breakfast. I thought the fact that there was no proper coffee, only some sort of instant, was pretty poor.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. We particularly liked the beautiful view of the pools and the palm trees. Everything was clean and the rooms were spacious enough. We stayed in a triple and a double room. The only drawback was that it is a bit far from the CBD, but they provide a shuttle bus to the airport and downtown. We would certainly stay there again.
