Palm Bungalows Hamilton Island Guest Reviews
Well, I visited Hamilton Island just after the easter break, so it was very quite and I was upgraded to the Reefview Hotel. In the island everything is very expensive. Although it is very small and pretty much everything is in walking distance, they offer golf buggies for rent ($85/day). All staff and some rental buggies run on petrol and make a lot of noise. My room was on the 8th floor, but it was much noisier than my unit in inner Sydney. It sounds like someone always mows the lawn. You always have to watch out on the road because the island is not a "shared" environment; buggies have right of way. It is an excellent way to put on a few extra pounds... I found it pretty pointless and annoying. The marina (where the restaurants are) is less than 10 min walk and connected by a constant bus service. The Palm bungalows are close to the road, so the noise is even louder there.

Great place, like having your own little house just without the microwave and stove. You also get your own carpark right beside the bungalow for a buggy if you rent one. Nice and roomy and good size tv. The island itself is also great to stay on. Lots to do. When i return this is where I would stay again.

The rom was over priced for the standard. The hut was more akin to a back packers in Thailand. There is agym on site but you had to pay extra if you were staying in the Palm Bungalows and i was already paying $315 a night. I have been to Hamilotn Island 4 times but wont be going back.

For $300 per night you would expect some thing a little more 'fresh'. Comfortable but in need of a major refurbishment. Check in and out times are ridiculous. Only two flights in to the Island so if you arrive on the am flight to maximise on your stay make sure you pack a change of clothes and your swim wear in your carry on luggage as you will have to wait 5 hours before they will let you access your room!
