Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel
4.6 out of 5

Very easy to get to . Booking in was quick and easy. Rooms were large, clean and surprisingly well equiped - even an iron. I did find eating the dining room extremely slow but the food was excellent. A pity we do not have hotels like these around Reading

Beautiful clean hotel with excellent service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and quiet. The food was excellent. Excellent value for money would thoroughly recommend it.

Service in the restaurant was like a comedy show. Too many inexperienced waiters, otherwise food was good and overall experience excellent.

Nice country hotel on the outskirts of Oxford. Map provided is poor and you will need directions from the City centre - about 25 mins walk away. Nice rooms and furnishings and breakfast was very good too. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Oxford who does not need to be based in the City centre.

I think that the most charming aspect of staying at this hotel for my girlfriend and I was that it was located next to a horse sanctuary. My girlfriend clearly adores horses and we made regular trips to feed them mints, carrots or just say hello. The room was nice enough. Staff were very friendly, warm and attentive. We made good use of the leisure complex and this was a big plus. The restaurant was appauling and this was the only real downside to the hotel. A carvery with gammon, pork and extraordinarily overcooked tuna was extremely uninspiring. This was bland, overcooked, stodgy, plain food. The hotel is fair to good and I had a pleasant stay there but, if you like good food then just don't eat in the restaurant.

Large and comfortable room, in a rather new hotel, with excellent facilities. It was quiet despite the large number of rooms. Generous breakfast. I'd be happy to stay here again.

Mostly fine, but found the room facilities a bit dated (access to you bill from your room & no internet). Would also have been nice to have been advised to book any spa treatments in advance & sent a brochure as when we got there they were fully booked. Also no sign of a horse sanctuary thats advertised as part of there attractions!!

The hotel is set in very pleasant grounds, within walking distance or a short taxi ride from Oxford City centre. Its position, surrounded by meadows and close to the river, gives a feeling of being out in the countryside. Evening meals in the restaurant are of good quality, well presented and delivered with good service by the staff.

The hotel is in a good position for the city (which is a short walk away, by the canal) and feels like you are in the countryside.
