Outback Pioneer Hotel Ayers Rock
4 out of 5

This hotel is placed very well within the resort, it is quiet, well maintained and has 3 places to eat. No-one should expect too much luxury in the middle of a desert with both food and accommodation, however, we found it delivered all that we needed to enjoy Uluru and Kata Juta. The local (free) bus and all the tour buses leave from outside the office, the pool area looks very clean, breakfasts are very expensive in Bough restaurant but again there are other options available by taking the little bus to the other part of the resort. Note, there is no movie theatre at the main resort any more. Sails is a very nice place to eat.

Great room. Each time we have stayed there (4 times) our room has got better.

If you want to stay overnight in Ayers Rock, there is no much choice, therefore they OVERcharge! Difficult to find a place to eat, unless eating outside by almost freezing temperature is your cup-of-tea! Don't stay unless you have to.

Basic, but when you consider where it is not so bad. Had shared facilities which were in a toilet / shower block. Very clean just NO HOT WATER ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Then weather was so hot it was not the end of the world. overall it was reasonable, would I stay there again probably not.

The cheapest option for a basic motel room. Expensive but expected given the distance from other townships. The whole Yulara resort is like mini township. The room service was reasonably priced and provided adequate simple meal but very poorly presented. It looked like it had been thrown into the serving box from across the room. Friendly & helpful staff. Make sure you find their in-house lookout, it was one of the best around. Would be good to view the sunset or sunrise as you can see both Uluru & The Olgas, but both obvioulsy from a distance.

The hotel was great and service good. It is expensive but I guess that they have a monopoly. You have to stay in Yularu if you want to see Ayers Rock and the Olgas.

The hotel was very expensive; especially when we met another couple who paid half what we did for an identical room. We enjoyed the BBQ Bar & Restaurant, the most reasonably priced restaurant at the Resort.
