Location
Othon Palace Hotel Rio de Janeiro is situated directly overlooking the Copacabana Beach and is a short ride from the shopping centres and main tourist areas of Rio. The hotel is just 8 kilometres from the railway station and the city centre. Many of the marvellous city's famous symbols are close by, such as the Sugar Loaf and the Statute of Christ the Redeemer atop the Corcovado peak.

everything in Rio is very expensive, especially in Copacabana. There are better value hotels in e.g. Ipanema, but I stayed in the RIo Othon palace about 25 years ago for the first time and decided to come back. Overall pleasant experience and nice staff. One MAJOR point of disappointment, 30 Rs per day for internet, which was extremely slow and interrupted constantly. In a hotel like the Othon with a 5 star rating, this should be free.

Awesome location, right on the beach. Standard hotel with dated decor, but still has comfy beds. I think I would have been disappointed if I hadn't have booked a junior suite. The sun room/ lounge was awesome. Nice breakfast
