Location
The Ohana Waikiki East is a bougainvillea covered high rise on the corner of Kuhio and Kaiulani Avenues. This central Waikiki location is 14 kilometres from the Honolulu International Airport. An easy 20-minute walk will take guests to Kapiolani Park at the foot of Diamond Head Crater, and the tropical gardens at Honolulu Zoo.
Rooms
The rooms at the Ohana Waikiki are decorated in light tropical colours and come in varying sizes. Some of the rooms have kitchenettes available; all guest rooms have Internet service, coffee makers, and hair dryers.
Restaurant
The Ohana East offers Chuck's Cellar for steak and seafood, Keoni by Keo for Thai food, island favourites, and breakfast. There is also a Pizza Hut, espresso cafe and room service.
General
While staying at the Ohana East Hotel make sure and use the fitness room and video arcade. The swimming pool and sun deck offer a jacuzzi hot tub and wireless Internet access. The Waikiki Trolley stops right in front of the hotel as one of its 30 stops.

I stayed there to sleep for the most part. It had a small deck to sit out on. I enjoyed the experience.

Check in was not friendly, but maid servicer was as good as it gets. My room needed new mattress, could feel all the springs in it. Everything else seemed great.

If you like staying at a place that is clean, affordable, and located in the middle of the action, then Ohana East is a good choice. The rooms were clean and moderatly furnished. The TV was an old CRT, but we did not go there to watch TV. The shower was standard size with lots of water pressure and volume. The bathroom sink was small and did not hold all of my wifes stuff. The pool area was nice. The spa had the biggest back massaging bubbles I have ever felt. It felt and sounded like a big base drum massaging my back. We did not eat at any of the restraunts at this hotel.

We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The bellhops helped us navigate the City bus and figured out our routes for us in advance. The hotel is central to a ton of restaurants and only a couple blocks to the beach. The room and bathroom were small, but comfortable. The housekeeping staff does a great job keeping them clean. We would definitely stay there again if we ever go back!

We were not concerned about having a place with lots of in-house amenities or a beachfront location, since we planned to (and did) spend our waking hours seeing things away from the Waikiki beach area. But, we could walk to the beach whenever we wanted. The room was very clean, the staff very helpful, and we enjoyed our private balcony. The only surprise was the additional fee for self-parking ($20), but the in and out was easy.
