The Oasis Palm is a nice "starter" hotel resort to go to or budget friendly place to be. Being our first time to Cancun and not knowing anything, we chose this hotel based on the price and location. The staff is friendly for the most part. Most speak English, however it does help to brush up on some basic Spanish like, "how much for this, where is the, and what time does?" There rooms are small so do not expect anything big. I would compare it to a small Best Western or older version of Holiday Inn. The bathroom is horribly small, a shower and toliet and that is it. One of the greatest assests that the hotel has is the Kids' Place which is a fun zone for kids. You can leave them with the staff and pick them up until 10pm. You cannot leave the hotel, but it is great beacuse the kids get to migle with each other and have a lot of great activities. Some reviews are negative, and remember we went in Winter so I have no idea if the AC does not work, but it worked fine for us. The tours are nice, but be advised, the bus is freezing because regardless of the weather, they turn on the AC at full blast in coldest temp and they do not turn in off. Also, you may not like the food they provide for you at lunch so be wary. The budgetary benefits as being an all-inclusive resort, a majority of your food and drinks is included. All mixed drinks and a daily buffett is all for you. I highly recommend tipping a $1 per every 2 drinks and you will be well taken care of. Overall it was a good first time experience, starter hotel, or a great budget friendly place.

The rooms are small and the bathroom fixtures looked very old with rust. The hotel is very convineantly located in the hotel zone. The resort amenities are very good. The hotel staff was very courteaous.

The hotel front desk staff were rude and incompetent. The restaurants staff were very friendly and courteous. The beach front had adequate amenities, but the water was only 2-feet deep with lost of algae, not a good beach at all. The value was not good and Mexicans have become notorious in trying to rip you off. Watch out the exchange rates, at every transactions try to rip off at least 25% over the marked price. Bottom line no more Mexico for me.

If you're realistic in expectation, this is a nice, clean beach front resort with multiple pools. Having said this be expecting some lapses in service i.e. occasionally spotty elevator service, mostly well drinks in 10oz plastic cups, and mostly mediocre food. I feel like there are a few tricks though that can help maximize an Oasis Palm trip I sadly didn't figure before hand. Most import, I would say be sure to bring plenty of small bills, especially if you do not plan on changing a lot of dollars for pesos as tipping is key and it can be difficult to make change in American dollars. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and repeatedly say that tipping is NOT required but it is VERY appreciated and a few dollars can go a long way in getting you perks like stronger drinks, name brand liquor, etc. Along the same line, I would highly advise bringing your own reusable large plastic cup or I even saw some, I'm assuming experienced, guests with small 96 ounce personal thermoses. The bartenders will happily fill any glass you bring them but if you don't have your own you are stuck with the 10oz plastic disposable cups they provide. As far as the food goes, I personally thought that both restaurants requiring reservations were upscale looking but not especially good in quality of food and I found the selections at the buffet better. Ambiance wise it may be worth it to bother to get up at 7am to make reservations once or twice during a stay but hardly necessary as one can eat much better at the buffets. I also would say that anyone who has previously had and likes good sushi should avoid the sushi bar altogether, though people who never usually eat sushi and were visiting from areas without good sushi available seemed to really enjoy it. Take that for what you will. The pool facilities are nice and very clean which seems challenging in that they are also well shaded with palm trees. People are not kidding though. The staff here really are ALWAYS cleaning. if you want a sunny spot beach or pool side it's good to get there early as the resort is full of families and other large groups that will claim those early and pretty much stay there all day. If you're like me and prefer shade you should have no problem any time of day. All in all a fun trip if you can keep in mind you are getting what you paid for and sometimes a bit more.

Nice hotel, clean, friendly people, but need A/C in the lobby and better food in the buffet. Also drinks (soft drinks and juices) are serve warm they need to make sure they take care of that. The location its great and good value for the price

The hotel was very nice, the people were nice for the most part, the only problem there is not A/C anywhere and barely in the room!! So you`ll be eating and sweating like crazy! Another thing the food was very slamy and warm when was suppost to be cold ( like warm lettuce, tomatoes for you salad) then the juices and sodas where nasty and warm.. Same food everyday. Hard to get reservations for the restaurants. But the location was great, if you can resist the heat and you are not picky with what you eat, you are ok. The hotel once again look beautiful. If the price is very cheap i would go back other wise no.
