It was our December 2011 Holidays and we went to this Hotel via Orbtz - to relax - away from all the stress in life. Our X'mas vacation became turned into a nightmare when we entered the resort. We reached the Hotel around noon. The Hotel reception area was a mess. We reached the front and saw chaos. The check-in process was worse than bad. Long (big) line & wait, plus unorderly. Took us more than 30 mins to get to a receptionist. For our room, we were told to wait more than 2 hours and come back for our keys. Hence, we decided to explore the restaurants as we were hungry since morning. To our shock, no one services our table for 45 mins! We were offered no food at all! The waiter said I'll be back and kept doing the same thing over & over. The on-duty restaurant manager was surprisingly rude & non-helpful. We were kept starving without any food or help. We then decided to wait till check-in (3p), freshen up & then come back down for early dinner. When we came back at 3p, there was a big long line again. We informed them that we have already checked in and done our duty of waiting; just need our keys. But we were asked to wait again for another 30-40 mins! We finally got to our room at 4/4:30P! Now, during booking on Orbtz, we had paid extra (premium) for beach (sea) facing view, nonsmoking with King bed. We had also called long distance to confirm with the resort after booking to ensure it's in their system. At that time, they said yes. To our greatest dissapointment, we got the wrong room - streetfacing, smoking, with 2 twin beds. The room was very dirty – bugs inside, door lock not working, Air Conditioning was not working, no accessories in the bathroom and no drinking water. Plus, there was construction (remodeling renovation) going next to our room!!! It was making a lot of noise. We couldn’t even relax for a moment after this, forget about enjoying a romantic retreat!!! We tried calling the Hotel reception to inform them but no response. Called Guest services, but no response! After waiting for a few mins, we went back down to complain. To our shock, there was a line / wait of 20 mins before we could talk to someone! When I shared my concerns, we were told that they cannot do anything. I informed them that this is not the room we paid for and booked. They said that not what they have in their system. I showed them the printout of Orbtz which clearly showed the details - beach/sea-facing view, non-smoking with King bed. To my shock, they said that they don’t know anything about it and cannot go by my printout. Their system is showing them what they gave us!! I asked us to move us immediately or call the manager. They said they are sorry – “can’t do anything! May be Orbtz gave us wrong info….and they are unable to help”. They didn't care at all. Asked me to call Orbtz again and deal with them! Hence, we decided to call Orbtz (please remember that by now, it’s 6p…we have not had anything to eat or a moment to relax/rest/enjoy). After calling collect several times, finally my call went thru…I spoke with Orbtz and explained everything to them. They immediately tried calling the Resort’s Manager, reception and so forth. To their shock, no one picked up. Hence, after an hour of hold/wait, Orbtz asked me to go down again and ask the Hotel Manager to call them. I went down but to my shock, they didn’t agree to call Orbtz. Said “we are very busy right now…come tomorrow.” By now, I was ready to pack my bags and leave the country! Finally, after arguments, repeated requests, AND $50, they moved us to a right room! By then, it was 7:30P!! Our entire day was wasted…we were tired and couldn’t do anything that day. WE UNDERWENT EXTREME EMOTIONAL DISTRESS DUE TO THIS TRIP INTERRUPTION, INCONVENIENCE, DELAY AND DISORDER. On a separate note, food was a big hassle in the so-called “all-inclusive” resort. The Online and in their brochures, they advertise that the Hotel Oasis – All Inclusive package has 9 restaurants! Sounds great but in

To begin, I booked a room with a king bed. Upon check-in, the front desk assistant informed me that they had no record of such a booking for a king bed. He also stated that the hotel was fully occupied instructing us to come back in the morning for a room change. Our first room was not maintained and was very dirty. The building was connected to the lobby which resulted in extreme levels of noise from intoxicated guests throughout all hours of the night. We did not sleep that night. In the morning we went to the breakfast buffet and found the food to be cold. The same was true for lunch and dinner. We were not satisfied with the service, rooms and food and decided to upgrade to the Grand Oasis for 280 USD. We were told this upgrade would give us ocean view with newer rooms, better service and a wider selection of food. It is to my displeasure to say that I spent the money to upgrade for 280USD let alone spend 2400USD for the whole trip. The services that were promised were nonexistent. The room was a complete downgrade with dirty floors, a puddle around the toilet, dirty mirrors and a dirty mattress. The rest of the buffets had a lingering odor that deterred anyone from the food. We chose to dine at a Brazilian steak house one night where my girlfriend ate the sirloin steak. Immediately after consuming the meat she became ill experiencing uncontrollable stomach issues and projectile vomit. Unfortunately we were forced to use the private medical services of the hotel. Upon arrival to the medical office where the doctor was supposed to be bilingual, yet spoke no English, my girlfriend was losing consciousness and the doctor refused to give her water. The medical facility was far under-equipped and even lacked a wheel chair. I carried her to the restroom where she continued to lose consciousness while experiencing stomach issues. The doctor offered no help. We were charged 310USD (which he put in his pocket) for terrible services rendered and for medicine to treat stomach cramps and stomach issues. My girlfriend was forced to stay in bed for the remainder of the trip. This was the worst vacation I have ever taken.

The resort itself was very nice. When booking through this company if they tell you to meet a guy for excursions, be aware that he never shows up for work-I didn't see him the whole week so booked through someone else. The knob to the shower, the towel rack, and toilet cover were all broken.

For what you pay for it's a good deal considering you get all your meals and drinks included. We had a couple of mishaps with our room not getting cleaned; however, the beach and pool were beautiful and the food was pretty good.

Our family just returned from a 5 day vaction to Oasis Cancun. Our group consisted of 6 of us in our 20s and our parents. As a preface, we booked this resort based almost completely on price, and overall had a decent experience. To start with the positive, the resort is large with a very nice beach, several pools, bars and restaurants. We had beautiful weather in the 80s with sunshine every day, which helped make the trip more enjoyable. Most of the employees are very friendly and eager to help. Based on the price I was concerned about what the food selection may be, however I was pleasantly surprised. There is only a buffet option for breakfast which did get a little old, but for the other meals there were several restaurants to choose from. For lunch we enjoyed the Mexican restaurant, as well as the American restaurant which served great woodfire pizza. For the evening they did have a Brazilian Steakhouse which was a nice option, and good entertainment. For those staying at the Grand Oasis (same resort just nicer rooms and access to a few more restaurants) there were some additional restaurants that looked nice too. As for the downside, checking in was a nightmare. We arrived at 3:00 which was apparently the worst time to arrive. Any guests who had arrived earlier in the day were able to leave their bags at the front door and got a drink wristband and told to come back at 3:00 to check in to their room, so we had about a 45 minute line which was completely unorganized. Once we did get to the front my parents were given a huge run around with getting their room. They were given keys to 4 different rooms that were all occupied (they use actual keys – so they actually got into the rooms of these 4 other people- a little scary) before they were finally given a room that did work. The rooms themselves were standard for a mid-grade resort in Mexico. They were in need of updating and had that funky smell, but overall they were sufficient. The couple pieces of advice I would give to anyone traveling here, would be first, be cautious when going out at night. The second night there my brothers went to Senior Frogs and after leaving they were waiting for a cab outside and were confronted by the police and 2 of them were handcuffed, put into the cop car and then told that they could either go to jail for 36 hours or pay $150 each. They were not doing anything other than waiting for a cab, however, they were obviously targeted for being American. We also talked to a group of people at our resort who were sold counterfeit wrist bands for Coco Bongo in the lobby of the hotel for $65 each. As for drinks, the bars all have "top shelf" (Jose Cuervo, Smirnoff, etc. ) alcohol and the cheap stuff. They will make your drinks with the better stuff if you ask. I don't think most people realized that you could get it, you just had to ask for it. The only other advice would be that if you are looking for a fancy upper class relaxing resort this is probably not your place, however if you are just looking to get away to a nice beach and don’t mind some mediocre rooms and okay food, the Oasis Cancun is a pretty good value for your money.

The website information was not correct. There were only 2 restaurants that we were allowed to eat in and the food was horrible and service was slow. The shower was broken and we never had hot water in 5 days, and there was no bedding and you were only allowed two bath towels and no hand or wash clothes. The air conditioning broke twice, and the staff was slow and inconsiderate.

I went here for a week in last november with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised ..resort is very well kept and spotless ..easily a 4 star from western standards ..amenities are great, and food is not bad either ..sushi restaurant is the best and the brazilian steak joint is good too ...staff is very friendly ..bartenders happily make you good drinks...this resort is popular amongst the party crowd so you will definitely have a good time if thats what your looking for ..have fun!

Very disappointed with facilities, no relaxation areas for over 40's, The food was the same & repeated throughout the various dining areas. The steak house was closed and the other eating areas were doubled up. Fly's around the buffet food which was not in covered cabinets. I actually booked the Grand Oasis Cancun 5* ajoining the Oasis Cancun & had to pay an up-grade supplemen to receive all the facilites. Would not go again.
