Oaks On Collins Melbourne
4 out of 5

Great location on Collins St, walking distance from everywhere, even Melbourne Park for the tennis! Also easy tram travel & train close at Southern Cross Station. The room was perfectly fine on the 18th floor with a view to the river & even the bay in the distance. All amentities were provided & having kitchen facilities is a bonus. My only complaint would be that the tv was placed too high on the wall & was a bit too small otherwise it was a perfect stay.

Kitchen facilities excellent. Staff helpful. I really missed not having bedside reading lamps. To read I had to leave bathroom light on and then get out of bed to turn it off. No light switches were accessible from bed. Swimming pool was outdoors, shaded by buildings and not heated; very cold. TV was mounted very high up which was uncomfortable for my neck.

The bathroom was so tiny, you could roll out of bed and land on the loo if it wasn't for the glass cupboard that enclosed it. Great for a perve if you want to see your partners silhouette not too grand if your partner has a noisy bum.The room has the bed the lounge the kitchen in it. The hotel was close to transport and eating out. Which if you like fine food don't eat from the hotel most of the meals are pre cooked and re heated, try a steak if you must eat there. Nice people but might not re visit.

I have stayed at Oaks on Collins for the past 4 years for both work and pleasure. The rooms are spacious and very relaxing. Amenities are also well stated and maintained. The location is also great. Walking distance to Southern Cross/Spenser St Station, trams go past outside. Walking to diners, clubs, pubs just about any where/or anything you need. The bar is also OK. We dined at Hardware lane, South Bank amd Fed Square and walked all the time. So what could be better... Larger TV, quality tea/coffee

Nice room with a small balcony which was a bonus as most hotels in Melbourne, simply don't have. Only complaint was the TV was nearly on the ceiling pointing downwards, so the only way to watch was to lay on the bed and look up!! Apart from this, well appointed, clean and staff friendly. Would stay there again.

I booked in for my partner and I. On arrival I was asked if we needed Twin Beds. No I would have booked a twin beds if that is what I wanted. I then got the welcome letter addressed to Ms. We then got to our room and it was not the room we booked. So much for the upgrade.

the air condition made a clicking noise all night was very annoying and was leaking water on a table where my husband put his shoes, however we noticed the problem in time, and moved the shoes. I didn't like the fact that you had to pay for internet, which is free at most hotels.

Very good value in a stunningly convenient location at the top end of Collins Street, five minutes walk from Southern Cross station.

The hotel is at a very central location, Collins st and very close to Southern Cross station. But the bathroom need cautions, very slippery floor when wet. Also, the door does not close completely, not very convenient for guest to use. The air conditioner is not easy to operate, need to call the office to get instructions. TV is small by today's standards.

Good location, close all shops, easy to the Airport Link, bus, and train. Just one lady in reception (630am, 25 Sunday) not so helpful.

I booked two cosmo suites for a girls getaway for 8 girls.Beds were comfortable, suite was clean & well set out. There was however a major disappointment when we checked in. Despite requesting in writing & speaking to reservations the day before check in to ensure our rooms, if not next to each other was at least on the same floor, we were booked into separate floors eventhough reservations said it should be fine as long as there was no maintenance work in the adjacent room. Reception however told me there were NO suites on the same floor! Conflicting information?? Also the shower having no glass enclosure, just a curtain, meant that the whole bathroom was wet after a shower. Lots of towels had to be used unnecessarily to ensure we didn't slip & the sinks were way too small for the size of the bathroom. They were more appropriate in a toilet with less room. Overall, experience was fine if not for separate floor experience!

My wife and I were in Melbourne for 6 nights for a medical conference ( for her ) so prime consideration was proximity to the conference venue ( great from that viewpoint ) as well as to the CBD for me to wander around . We were given a studio room on the 17th floor ; it backed on to the lifts and was really noisy at peak usage times as on an internal wall arrangement and had no windows except across a light well which had public access by other guests and therefore had no privacy . Room servicing was poor ; we had to ask for crockery and glassware when we arrived , the changes of bathroom towels and linen was random in quantities as was the replenishment of coffee and sugar sachets . We have had mostly good experiences with club bookings but can't make positive comments about the quality and service we received at this establishment .

The room is very romantic, but the studio I stayed at does not have a window!! very disappointed, only a window to the inside of the hotel, hence I can't tell in the morning if the sun's up or not. There was a unbelievable long time at 10am for check out, I was in a rush to the airport, and the staff were not helpful at all. I got a special deal really cheap, but I would not stay here if it's over $150

To say that my wife & I were disappointed would be an understatment, we were on the 19th floor, the lifts only go to the 18th, so you had to lug yourself [& luggage on the way down] up 3 flights of stairs to get to the room, the rooms are very tired, the bedlinen was questionable, not even a bottle of water in the fridge, the hand basin in the bathroom was located in such a position that you couldn't clean your teeth over the basin without the shelf above obstructing you, I could go on, needless to say we won't be staying there again or recommending Oaks on Collins

Enjoyed the hotel overall, just be carefull on your use of carpark. This seemed outsourced - confusion on how long I could leave my car in comparision to my check out.

I stayed 3 nights at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and the hotel was in a good location. The rooms appeared to be unfinished to me. I stayed in 2 different rooms and the first room was a studio which was small and I could hardly fit my carry on luggage in. The a/c was noisey and the bathroom was really small. The only positive would have to be the comfy bed.The second room was an executive overall happpy with the the size of the room however the room didnt have a bedside lamp and bathroom didnt have a blowdryer or shower curtain like u see in the pics.

Beautiful new room with kitchenette, dishwasher, sofa and balcony. Great room servicing. I left a ring in the room that was returned to me once I contacted the hotel. However, the shower produced a shot of boiling hot water every 15 seconds that was a major risk of burns, there was no basin vanity benchtop to put toiletries, and there was only a shower curtain that went half way around the shower.

Great Room, Great Location. TV rather small. Good size fridge. No additional blankets or pillows in room. Only offered $25 parking option, when hotel staff were pushed I was given a $10 parking option a little further away. Room was pre-paid in full - no minibar and yet I still had to pay a $150 room deposit.
