Oaks Lagoons Port Douglas Guest Reviews (41)
This was my second stay at this resort in three years. The swim out rooms are fantastic, especially with children, or just playing adults, good pool fencing, great facilities, set up. It is 4 Km into the center of Port Douglas, however close to all facilities, shops, 4 mile beach. Having been a previous resident of port Douglas, I can say its one of the best value for money resorts with great modern facilities. The only downside at present, seems to be the operator running the resort on skeleton staff levels, this is placing a lot of pressure on current staff to maintain service levels, was obvious with check in delays, waiting for rooms to be cleaned, particularly on weekends. The room opposite me had something smelling/ rotting in the bins, which took two days to be addressed post reporting it. At this price you will be lucky to find a resort that is as good in real life as it looks in the brochure. Unfortunately Port Douglas is struggling to attract visitors at present and a lot of the resorts are letting maintenance and the small things go to survive. If you have ever though about visiting the tropics Port Douglas is one of the best places to base yourself, the weather is the best in Australia, even in summer, not as hot as the southern states, yes a bit of humidity, but its great for the skin. If you have plenty of money get a sleep out at Sea Temple but it will cost you 2-3 times as much and the min sleep out is 2 bedrooms.

Nothing to complain about. It's a nice place for a short stay

My criticism of the resort is no toaster in the room to prepare breakfast. You do not want to go to a community kitchen in PJs to get breakfast. Sink in room was far too small. There was far better value places closer to PT Douglas centre, that had full kitchen facilities for less price than Oaks lagoon.

Location, staff and general outlook good. Excellent value for money, but the room we were allocated was tired and dirty. The lampshades had stains, lights were full of bugs, window ledges full of bird droppings, sand around the spa, shower handle broken, sheets had rips and were stained (clean but stained). Overall very dissappointed with the cleanliness of the room we were alotted.
